95 99% The Dark Knight (2008) - Rated 07 Jan 2010
"Very little distracts from Nolan's second Batman offering. Again, more than just a comic book movie, the film scores on almost every level. If only Nolan could avoid gruffing up Bale's Batman voice as much as he does, it would eliminate the one sore point I have. Ledger is phenomenal and deserves all the accolades he received. Fear in film one, chaos in film two. Where will Nolan take us next?"
65 50% Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"I give this effort an average score. Ultimately, it didn't stack up to the original movie, and I found many scenes to be overly long or unnecessary, almost as if the director was trying to make sure he hit 2 and half hours. Some cool stuff though, with the new bad guys and creatures, and the characters are still bang on."
30 4% Return of the Living Dead: Necropolis (2005) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"If you absolutely need some undead action, although I'd consider letting this one rot in the grave."
50 19% Day of the Dead 2: Contagium (2005) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"A somewhat weak effor that barely musters a passing grade. I did enjoy some aspects of it, but some pieces which seemed to be major plot points end up no where in the end. No relation to the Romero movie either except as cheap method of getting people to rent this."
60 33% The Detonator (2006) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"An average Wesley Snipes action film. Certainly not his best, but still hits all the usual marks to provide some mindless action entertainment."
79 82% Superman Returns (2006) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"A solid addition to the first two Superman films (part III & IV don't exist in my reality). Casting was well handled, and at times I thought Brandon Routh was channelling just a little bit of Reeve. DC Comics has definately managed to pull their heads out of their asses with their latest comic offerings, and it's about time."
61 40% Click (2006) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"An average romp through some of the usual bathroom humour. A couple of decent moments. It has Walken in it, so that earns a few points too. And I completely agree with Morty's take on Kate's character."
51 23% Maximum Overdrive (1986) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"Campy and ultimately weak, but something about it makes me give it a watchable score if you're desperate. Killer soundtrack at least."
60 33% The Break-Up (2006) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"I found this movie lacking after going in with such hope. I may have been tempted to rate it lower, but I figure I can't score it based on my expectations that were misplaced coming in. More juvenile than funny and I found it lacked a basis in reality that hurt it. Still, it was entertaining enough to be considered an average film."
35 6% Raise the Titanic (1980) - Rated 14 Aug 2007
"The first unfortunate attempt at adapting one of Clive Cussler's novels to the big screen. Any fan of the books won't recognize the story in this film as everything about it is changed and hacked to pieces. It's no wonder it took almost 25 years for Cussler to trust Hollywood with another of his books."
