"A truly great sword and sorcery flick, with one of the best original scores in movie history. This is right up there with Star Wars in terms of being a film that is utterly elevated and transformed by the music. What other movie pulls off a romance subplot in which one character only has one or two lines to the other, none of them romantic, completely on the back of the orchestra? Just watch it, seriously."

"This could have been the best film in the franchise. The premise really is as close as the movie series ever got to capturing the spirit of the show, even closer than Star Trek VI, which absolutely nailed it. Unfortunately, the execution just isn't there, due to a troubled production history. If you're a fan of the series, though, do yourself a favor and track down a copy of the novelization. It's worth the read.
This is also a good bad movie night candidate. Two words: Perky. Romulan."

"Best. Bad. Movie. Night. Ever. You have not lived until you've seen Grandpa Itchy watching VR porn in the living room, or Bea Arthur dancing on the tables of the Mos Eisley Cantina. And the moment where Lumpy's stuffed bantha is ripped up by a Storm Trooper looking for contraband? Most evil thing the empire ever did, and the saddest moment in the franchise. I'm not even joking, that poor Wookiee child."
