80 68% | Annie Hall (1977) - Rated 05 Nov 2024
"It certainly stands as a landmark in film history, blending groundbreaking storytelling with quirky humor. It's easy to see why it was so revolutionary in 1977. Allen's playfully unconventional approach to romance & narrative structure is remarkable. However, I can't wrap my head around it beating Star Wars for Best Picture. Sure, it's a groundbreaking movie, but SW redefined an entire genre and pop culture in ways few films have ever managed."

65 28% | The Man in the Iron Mask (1998) - Rated 24 Oct 2024
"This film is a curious blend of charm and chaos. While it boasts an impressive A-list cast, the production stumbles with lackluster set designs, awkward dialogue, and uninspired fight choreography. The pacing feels off, dragging in some spots while rushing through others. Despite these shortcomings, there's a bit of an appeal that makes it a guilty pleasure."

"Presents a thought-provoking exploration of forgiveness and the search for purpose in the face of an utterly reprehensible and morally corrupt character. Invites viewers to grapple with complex themes of redemption and resilience."

""Disturbia" serves as an entertaining popcorn flick, delivering just the right mix of suspense and eerie fun without aiming for anything deeper. It's an enjoyable watch that doesn’t take itself too seriously."

69 38% | They Came Together (2014) - Rated 07 Oct 2024
"A very funny romantic comedy that pokes fun at romantic comedies, but loses some steam by the end and would benefit from cutting about 20 minutes of film."

"Funny/raunchy, striking a chord with many men in ways they might not want to acknowledge. Its relatable themes of friendship and the challenges of making connections add to its quasi-charm."
