Bio: For the record, Logan is my favorite. Not Titanic. Just because they're both 97, doesn't mean they're both equal. Titanic's a close second, though.

So many films, not enough time...

"Wes Anderson is definitely an acquired taste. His strange comedy style isn't for all, and even I found myself wondering where this film was going in a couple places. There were a couple gags that went on for far too long, but in the end this film was a thrill ride with non-stop laughs and great performances all the way around. It's hardly my favorite Anderson film, but it's one I'm so glad I watched."
90 87% Mistress America (2015) - Rated 09 Oct 2017
"Mistress America is a story of self-discovery and identity. Through the ever-impressive Greta Gerwig and Lola Kirke, we see characters come to grips with life and adulthood. There's a sort of reality that's set during the whole film. Baumbach never manages to make his film looks like a film. It almost feels too realistic. His characters are so grounded in reality and the ones in Mistress America are no exception. Bar an underwhelming conclusion, this film has everything going for it."
87 80% The Squid and the Whale (2005) - Rated 09 Oct 2017
"The Squid and the Whale's tale of divorce is one that is told without any sugarcoating. Baumbach's script is one of absolute power and candor. He executes these topics in a way people will be able to identify. Perhaps the character development was lacking in some of areas and Laura Linney's performance felt a little emotionless, but this only took away a little bit from a heart-wrenching story. This is another brutally honest masterpiece from Noah Baumbach, a director that has yet to disappoint."
95 96% Drive (2011) - Rated 09 Oct 2017
"Without a doubt one of the most creative getaway films I've ever seen, Drive uses its camera angles and lighting to its advantage. Its refusal to focus on the thrills is admirable, yet this means the film is entertaining in its own way. Drive focuses on emotion and character development rather than speed and excitement. All being topped off by a stellar performance from Ryan Gosling, this is a movie nobody should miss."
70 40% Beetlejuice (1988) - Rated 05 Oct 2017
"It's no doubt a cliché Tim Burton film. It's one of his more campy films and it fits well within the 1980s in that aspect. Michael Keaton's performance as the titular character is absolutely ridiculous and I couldn't ask for more. While its cheesy at times, the film is perfect for something to watch when you just want to sit back and laugh. Nothing to think about, but nothing to miss out on either."
93 94% Margot at the Wedding (2007) - Rated 05 Oct 2017
"Only after seeing this movie had I realized how polarizing it was upon release. Aside from Jack Black, this movie showcases some of the cast's best performances and this is one of the most brutally honest films I have ever seen. The characters are all insufferable, yet they're all so compelling. I have come to a certain realization. Baumbach doesn't make films. He makes character studies and this is no exception."
66 32% For Your Eyes Only (1981) - Rated 05 Oct 2017
"This entry into the James Bond franchise is everything I had ever hoped for after Moonraker. While it still doesn't compare to the Connery classics, it treats the viewer well with thrilling action sequences, a witty script, and a fitting performance by Roger Moore. Are there better Bond films? After clearly favoring action over substance in this film, of course there are, but there has without a doubt been much worse."
