"I have a lot of complicated feelings about this movie that I can't adequately summarize in 500 words or less. So I'll say this: THE WRONG TWO PEOPLE KISSED. Thank you."

"Essentially the ultimate 50s movie. Post-art deco design, the sort of pre-feminist strong female lead, the Jungian subconscious as a major plot point, and A ROBOT!! The beepidy-boopidy soundtrack got kind of old, and it's strange to see a young Leslie Nielsen, but when it works, it's great. The film does a very good job at slowly ratcheting up the tension, but it gets a little too exposition-heavy at times. All in all, the ne plus ultra of 50s sci-fi. Not perfect, but damn close."

"This might be a recent development, but are we supposed to hate the protagonists? Usually, I don't have much of a problem with Jesse Eisenberg, but his character was insufferable. A fair number of the "twists" were predictable, and there was way too much obvious CGI. I couldn't stand the romance arc either. To sum up, the biggest problem I had with this magic movie is that even when you couldn't see the wires, the tricks weren't all that impressive."

"I absolutely never would have expected this performance out of James McAvoy. Admittedly, I don't know much (if any) of his work beyond "Atonement" and the trailers for "Trance" and "X-Men First Class", but this was still a revelation. In fact, there was so much that was surprising, thrilling and shocking that I feel like I need to see it again if it hits the states. Best movie I've seen this year."

"Just a gorgeous, sweet little movie. The second time around, I was actually surprised by how melancholy certain parts of the movie are. Even with a happy ending, you almost wish that Chihiro's adventures in the bath house would go on forever. And the scene on the train was one of the most beautiful and unintentionally sad scenes that I've seen in an animated movie. While the "love conquers all" bit made me groan, all in all this is a wondrous film that I can't wait to show my kids."
