80 67% Island of Terror (1966) - Rated 10 Dec 2018
70 42% Journey to the Far Side of the Sun (1969) - Rated 10 Dec 2018
"Doppelgänger outside the UK , the premise of this movie (there is a counter Earth) was done far better in the Twilight Zone episode "The Parallel" Interestingly the film's plot device where the writing is supposed to be reversed wasn't understood by those who put the film on TV. The result is effectively two films involving events on the two Earth mirroring each other."
50 14% Countdown (1968) - Rated 10 Dec 2018
"This is an interesting defacto alternate history built around the idea the Russians being much further along with their space program then they actually were. Sadly despite the premise the ending of the film is likely the only really memorable thing about it"
60 28% Scream and Scream Again (1970) - Rated 10 Dec 2018
"This is a very fragmented film with effectively three plots: someone is slowly amputating the limbs of a man in a hospital, there is a man with superhuman strength killing women and draining their blood and a something involving an agent from an Eastern European totalitarian state. It all tied together at the end but the film doesn't really have a resolution."
80 67% Doctor Who (1963) - Rated 10 Dec 2018
"As the longest running sci TV series Doctor Who has is bad stories but they are far outnumbered by the good."
40 3% The Day of the Triffids (1962) - Rated 10 Dec 2018
"While the premise sounds interesting the execution is horrid. There are long stretches where the main character and the girl with him just wander though a strangely abandoned countryside."
70 42% Robinson Crusoe on Mars (1964) - Rated 10 Dec 2018
"Effectively the Robinson Crusoe story set on Mars with a side plot of aliens mining the planet that is never resolved."
80 67% Quatermass and the Pit (1967) - Rated 10 Dec 2018
"Known as "Five Million Years to Earth" in the US this is an excellent take on the our existence is the result of alien interference. It should be noted this is a movie version of the 6 part BBC 1958-1959 miniseries and is far better in terms of pacing."
80 67% Star Trek (1966) - Rated 10 Dec 2018
"Technically this is a TV series not a movie and so the score is actually all over the place. "City on the Edge of Forever" would be a 100 while "And the Children Shall Lead" be a 10."
95 96% The Time Machine (1960) - Rated 10 Dec 2018
"One of the better interpretations of HG Wells' classic."
