"A great work of collaboration between Tim Burton's concept and characters, the lyrics and music of Danny Elfman, and the hard work and dedication of hundreds of artists, all held together and made better by the creative glue of Henry Selick's direction."

80 44% | Sherlock Holmes (2009) - Rated 15 Nov 2010
"A delightful re-imagining of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's character. I think that RDJ was perfectly cast in this role. It was weakened with a poor plot, I hardly even remember the villain or the conflict. But if a sequel is made, much could be done with Holmes' super villain Moriarty. Good action that we would expect from Guy Ritchie, and great quickly-delivered dialogue from RDJ and the equally good, Jude Law. If you're looking for a perfect interpretation of the books, you will be disappointed."

68 15% | The Book of Eli (2010) - Rated 15 Nov 2010
"Based upon the book that the title of the movie is referring to, I thought I would like this film better. I would have loved to see this film in a less apocalyptic setting and more in the real world where we are more likely to have the actual text of the "book" and lack an understanding of what it says and how it should affect the way we live. It reminded me of Fahrenheit 451. It is less about the Book and more about Eli. But if it is so important, shouldn't they say more about why?"

79 37% | Kick-Ass (2010) - Rated 15 Nov 2010
"Good old comic books. Now we can safely snuggle up in our beds, safe in our delusional alternate reality, convinced that the real world can't hurt us. That's why I think this movie is so smart. It reminds you that what you want isn't realism. You want the fantasy. You see, Kick-Ass isn't a comic-book satire. It is satirizing the audience and their desire for reality. Their desire for violence. And it does a great job of doing just that."

74 20% | An Education (2009) - Rated 15 Nov 2010
"Being a person who has looked for shortcuts my whole life, I saw the ending of this after-school special coming a mile away. There are no shortcuts to the life that we dream of. Mulligan was brilliant. Her charm and beauty will serve her well in the industry, but her acting chops will make her a star. Perhaps the saddest truth is that she received more of an education from a few months with her charming playboy than all her prior years of schooling could have afforded her."
