"Really enjoyed this film. The direction has received deserved praise, the acting was mostly spot on, and the creative choices were really refreshing and interesting. The balance between artistic vision and grounded realism was great, and I'm excited to see what else Jordan Peele has to offer. I wouldn't say it's core message is exactly subtle, but I appreciate the fact that this film got as much traction and mainstream play as it did."

"Man, this movie was so almost great. If I could've just walked out of the theater before the last ~20 minutes, I'd have a much higher opinion of this film. Unfortunately, the nonsense reaction-bait ending completely soured the entire experience for me. Making a point in an interested or shocking way is one thing, but deliberately doing something completely nonsensical in order to illicit a reaction just for the sake of doing so is painfully weak."

"It's cute, it's got a bunch of references that the creators were clearly hoping would excite people's nostalgia radar, and it has one of the most annoying voice actors in Hollywood play the secondary character. Not a masterpiece, but a cute story that has typically gorgeous animation and a nice message for the kids."

"Oh man, what agony. I may not have lived the 13 year old girl life in the modern day, but I believe I can now adequately empathize with it. What a beautiful and thoughtful story this was. I have all the respect in the world for Bo, so to see his first effort into the realm of film making as something just as cutting and honest as his previous works is incredible. Absolutely loved this despite being painfully uncomfortable for a lot of it."
