90 95% | Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn (2020) - Rated 20 Oct 2020
"I genuinely loved this film. It was certainly odd, and at points it felt like a fever dream (I say this with love), but most of all it was just fun. Despite losing all interest in the DCCU after Suicide Squad, I was incredibly invested in the story and all the characters' arcs. The fight scenes were incredibly well choreographed, which isn't something DC is exactly known for, so I was really pleasantly surprised."

79 66% | The Devil All the Time (2020) - Rated 22 Sep 2020
"I'm a sucker for a post-war period piece and I wasn't too disappointed with this film. The acting was brilliant and despite being confused until the way the characters are connected unraveled, I found myself heavily invested in them. While I don't hate bleak/tonally grey films, this one went really hard on that aspect, however that's my biggest criticism."

"I certainly didn't fall in love with this series, but I definitely enjoyed it. The acting was (mostly) pretty good and all of the leads had a really good rapport. I haven't read the graphic novel so I can't comment on its faithfulness to it."

"I was pleasantly surprised by this film, the acting was on point and while not the most gripping of stories I was definitely invested in it."

81 74% | Joker (2019) - Rated 13 Jun 2020
"I'm very torn about Joker, I wanted to enjoy it so badly and I definitely did, but that's not to say it was without flaws. Joaquin Phoenix carried the film, he's still not my favourite joker but Heath Ledger was incredibly hard to beat so that's nothing against him. I really liked the take on his laughter, turning it into a crippling disorder as opposed as a biproduct of his madness"

71 41% | Zombieland (2009) - Rated 13 Jun 2020
"The film has its flaws, that's for sure, but it did get a decent number of laughs out of me and I thought the actors all had a decent chemistry which got me invested in their story."

100 99% | The Prestige (2006) - Rated 24 Apr 2020
"This film is incredible. The acting is brilliant, the screenplay was written perfectly. The cinematography is incredible, there isn't a single bad thing I could say about this film even if I tried. The plot twists were implemented incredibly and rewatching it you find more and more hidden details every time."

76 54% | School of Rock (2003) - Rated 10 Mar 2020
"This isn't a technically great film, however while being cheesy and silly it's still a decent comedy. It also mildly tackles issues such as body positivity, which, while not being the most in-depth look into them, it's sure as hell enough for a kids film. While not the kind of film that you'd watch with your uni flatmates for a weekly movie night, it's definitely a great family movie."
