"Great use of close-ups showing faces. Movie is the art of faces. Superb use of colours Red, white and black symbolizing love / hate, sex and death. Personal dramas exposing human weaknesses of all characters that following a Bernean script lead to tragic endings of empty lives possibly oppressed by lutheran religiousness. Some remarkable evocative scenes such as the one on PIETÁ."
