Barbie (2023) - Rated 14 Aug 2023
When this movie was announced, I rolled my eyes. As I sat in the theatre, I couldn't take them off the screen if I tried. I also couldn't stop laughing, or contemplating existence more than I'd ever anticipate from a movie about literal Barbie dolls. Flawless casting, gorgeous sets & cinematography, enough clever jokes & profound monologues to carry 3 movies, and the power to deliver a poignant message without taking itself remotely seriously make this movie a bright pink beacon of joy & hope.
