"For a character-driven film with an ambiguous ending, the characters seem too prone to extremes to be taken seriously, though it does help with the dreamlike quality of the film. The self-irony gets good at certain points, which left me chuckling. It came as a surprise that the conflict and the ending managed to create a bit of an emotional response. However, I found it too meta and superficially surreal for my taste. It does have heart, though. Seemed fun to film."
