"The fact that the Hellion eats up the screen every time he is present, is both bad and good. On the one hand, there's the accent. On the other hand, the sheer physicality of his presence makes you forget every other performer, including the ostensible star. Also, decent monster. And man, Del Toro is definitely shelling out for some great set dressing on these mini-movies."

"Coming to this after, what, 45 years after it came out? Of course, I was too young to see it then (despite my elementary school showing it in 16mm as a fundraiser!), but it always had such a cultural overhang, it is a relief to crawl out from under and out into the sun. This thing was amazing, every performance immaculate, and just so much cutting edge shit. I could practically feel myself breathing in the cigarette smoke, and I watched on my laptop."
