"Somewhere in a "vault" is the brilliant, original cut of this film. It WANTS to be a zoolander type y2k slapstick surreal adventure film, and you can tell it was chained to the floor. What's with the inane narration? the forced happily ever after double ending? I can't help but enjoy it as is, but you can tell something truly great is wrapped up in foil here. I completely understand its fanbase, and expect this to get the Southland Tales treatment in a few years."
