70 39% Zack and Miri Make a Porno (2008) - Rated 13 Jan 2009
"Entertaining, yet flawed, like all of Smith's films. Has lots of good laughs and entertaining characters, but it feels like Smith didn't quite know how to wrap it up, and the end feels a bit disjointed from the rest of the film. Still it does what it sets out to do, make us laugh, and has arguably the most artistic shot of Jason Mewes' balls ever shown in a theater."
90 91% The Dark Knight (2008) - Rated 13 Jan 2009
"Probably the best comic-book film ever made, though calling it a "comic-book" film seems like a disservice. Though it was one of my favorites of 2008, a bit of the awe wears off through repeat viewings, mainly due to an abundance of convenient plot circumstances, though that is a very minor complaint. A damn shame that we will never get to see Ledger reprise his role."
95 97% WALL·E (2008) - Rated 13 Jan 2009
"Pixar's best film to date, and easily the best CGI film ever, Wall-E blew me away in ways I never expected. I walked back into the theater an hour after seeing it and purchased another ticket to watch it all over again. Easily my favorite film of 2008."
80 68% Shoot 'Em Up (2007) - Rated 17 Sep 2007
"Ridiculously over the top to the point of it almost being a parody, this movie is great fun to see, as long as you go in knowing what to expect. It's never takes itself too seriously, and is excellent pop-corn, off-duty brain entertainment."
90 91% The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters (2007) - Rated 24 Aug 2007
"What started out as an evening of making fun of the people in this documentery, shortly changed into the room erupting into a roar of cheers. See this movie now!"
80 68% The Return of the Living Dead (1985) - Rated 24 Aug 2007
"Excellent pop-corn zombie movie that never takes itself too seriously, and at the risk of sounding shallow, definitely the hottest horror movie nude scene ever."
75 52% Mercury Rising (1998) - Rated 24 Aug 2007
"Great thriller, though a little paint by numbers at times."
30 6% Deep Rising (1998) - Rated 24 Aug 2007
"Jesus god this movie is brain poison. Starts off interesting enough, but quickly devolves into something appropriate for a sci-fi channel original."
