90 75% | Firefly (2002) - Rated 15 Aug 2022
"Excellent casting choices, tightly written storylines, and I'm going to be the bad guy here and say that I'm kind of okay with it being only a handful of episodes? The show never had time to falter. It's 14 episodes that are each in their own way "the best" of the season. Shame Whedon had to taint his own legacy."

80 56% | Deadpool (2016) - Rated 15 Aug 2022
"Excellent comedy with a lackluster story that is rendered unimportant based solely on Reynolds' utter commitment to and skill in bringing Deadpool to full, loud and gory life."

70 45% | A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965) - Rated 15 Aug 2022
"Torn on this one. It's a nostalgic childhood favorite, but also it really pushes religion. Not as noticeable back in the day when I was being raised in said religion and also being raised severely ignorant of the real world. Now, in my adulthood, and these days, while most of it is charming the religious interlude is grating, uncomfortable and unwelcome."

"It was fun when I saw it in theaters but when 2 came out my dislike of that one somewhat echoed backward, and I realized that GotG was a bit gimmicky for my liking, and didn't really give us much good character development."

85 66% | Groundhog Day (1993) - Rated 15 Aug 2022
"It gets a bit creepy when he starts stalking women, but that's really the only part of the movie that hasn't aged well (or rather has changed in my view as I've lived longer and started to notice how much I've taken for granted previously). However outside that, this movie remains a charming and clever romantic comedy. Great acting from characters major and minor, fun premise, and easily rewatchable."

100 92% | Kill Bill: Volume 1 (2003) - Rated 15 Aug 2022
"Tarantino is a creep. Uma Thurman is amazing and this movie is 2 hours of watching her absolutely destroy a bunch of fucks that had it coming. Well worth the watch, and all the subsequent rewatches."

80 56% | Men in Black (1997) - Rated 15 Aug 2022
"Fun when it came out, still fun today. A very unique take on aliens, a good combination of actors thrown together in a buddy comedy, and I mean... "edgar suit". Yes, it's still a great amount of fun to rewatch from time to time."

100 92% | No Country for Old Men (2007) - Rated 15 Aug 2022
"There is literally nothing about this movie to hate or nitpick. It's a beautifully told story that refuses to follow the rules so that you quickly learn you are never safe in your assumptions. And everyone blows it out of the water with their characters. Yes, Bardem gets (and deserves) the praise for his terrifying & hypnotizing performance, but there is nobody in this movie that isn't absolutely killing it. The sound design is also unique and delightful."

90 75% | Hail, Caesar! (2016) - Rated 15 Aug 2022
"A bizarre and surreal day(ish) in the life of a Hollywood 'fixer'. There isn't a bad performance in the bunch. The score is delightful. The writing is quick, witty, and never falters. I didn't really get into it the first time, possibly because the storyline is a bit odd in that it wanders and isn't focused on any one main thing or person, but I liked enough of it to give it another go and it's grown on me, and now I rewatch it regularly."
