"Charming lead performance. Just a nice film about man who likes a routine and slows down and appreciates the simple things in life."

70 22% | Emilia Perez (2024) - Rated 17 Nov 2024
"Stylish and well performed but im not sure what all the awards hype is over. There's nothing particularly hard hitting or profound about it and the characters and their decisions lack depth"

75 38% | Joker: Folie à Deux (2024) - Rated 23 Oct 2024
"Nicely shot, good performances, especially from the leads but some of the minor characters are good too, enjoyed Gleeson. The musical side didn't take over as much as I feared. Liked the courtroom scenes. Has some interesting ideas, who is Arthur fleck, who is joker, is he mentally ill and does that matter. And continuation on the themes of joker as a symbol that a lot of bad disenfranchised people are rallying behind. Which he enjoys, but only to a point, because is it really him they want?"

72 29% | Civil War (2024) - Rated 14 Sep 2024
"Positives: Soundtrack. Main Cast. Twist on the road trip trope. Grittiness. Photojournalism was an interesting perspective to see from and some of the stills were cool. Jessie Plemons is great as ever. A better Joel and Ellie than the last of us tv show. Negatives: the journalism angle felt melodramatic and unconvincing at times. Good pacing. Despite the grittiness the way the journalists behaved lacked realism - the major ending moment was incredibly cheesy."

"Surprisingly enjoyable. The two leads carry it well and it follows the classic blockbuster formula perfectly, doesn't out stay its welcome."

"Solid uplifting film and can't go wrong with that soundtrack."

70 22% | Alien: Romulus (2024) - Rated 31 Aug 2024
"Solid enough, got a bit tired of it by the end. The body horror elements get a bit ridiculous. The British accents came across a bit exaggerated and annoying, minor quibble."

"Good performances, incredible CGI. Too long and lacked momentum and the world building was a bit thin"
