45 8% | The Village (2004) - Rated 10 Aug 2011
"It needs to be said; after The Sixth Sense it was all downhill.
Even if you accept the choice to life in this crazy isolation, even if you resolve their lying and frightening of their (grand)children into staying within the confines of this creepy little village; you spend the whole movie liking the daughter, until you realize her lack of sight is a crutch for a cowardly choice.
I can respect the Amish, they let their kids see the real world 1st. This was lame story with a lamer ending."

93 86% | National Treasure: Book of Secrets (2007) - Rated 08 Aug 2011
"I'm still hoping for a third National Treasure, because the first two were pretty awesome. Love or hate Nic Cage, but his enthusiasm and child-like glee truly make these movies enjoyable. Every adventure is interesting (and sometimes educational), but mostly you just really enjoy how giddy these people are solving puzzles and unveiling history. This movie adds the element of Ben's mom (the incomparable Ms. Mirren), who again just delights us with her wonder."

40 5% | Wedding Crashers (2005) - Rated 08 Aug 2011
"I tried to like this movie more. I like Vaughn, I like Wilson, and generally I like the kind of noodges they play. But this movie just went too far, and had nothing endearing or worthwhile to share of itself. Even Isla Fisher was annoying in this movie."

45 8% | Birthday Girl (2001) - Rated 08 Aug 2011
"I would not call this a thrill, mostly because it was hardly thrilling. While Chaplin and Kidman both put good work into this strange little indy-pic, the story was so bizarre and the convoluted I just wanted it to be over."

95 91% | A Fish Called Wanda (1988) - Rated 08 Aug 2011
"One of the truly greatest comedies of all time, and a collection of some of the finest comedic (though not exclusively) actors in the world. This movie was so good, they had to make an entirely new movie (that was pretty damned good itself) with the same cast, just to show off. This is actually a very smart comedy, but it requires little intellectual effort to unravel. Just sit back, enjoy, and try not to get too weirded out when you realize Cleese is kinda sexy."

10 0% | The Omega Code (1999) - Rated 08 Aug 2011
"I think I'd feel bad giving a film 0. I mean, how do I know the craft services wasn't top-notch? The costumes should at least give any movie 10 points, right? It's a giant pile of religious propaganda shoved into a really stupid would-be-SciFi film. While there are good actors in this movie, they have nothing worthwhile to say, so their delivery becomes rote and pointless. Worse than I imagine the Left Behind movies are."

65 19% | Home Fries (1998) - Rated 08 Aug 2011
"PSI nailed this one. Home Fries was cute, and there's a great cast of people in it. But it was mostly unnotable."
