"Visually arresting, and the nesting structure keeps things interesting. But even as an Anderson fanboy, I did not find an emotional "in." I didn't give the film the proper staging; I watched right after crying through another film. Wes Anderson's best works are stories about likable bastards (Rushmore, Tenenbaums, Life Aquatic, Mr. Fox) or precocious but emotionally vulnerable adolescents (Rushmore, Moonrise Kingdom). This left me wanting more. Could have used Bill Murray and Frances McDormand"
