85 82% Alice in Wonderland (2010) - Rated 07 Mar 2010
"Just saw this wonderous marvel unfold before my eyes. Burton, Depp, and Elfman fans will need no recommendation to see this, and nor should they. Those on the fence are advised to enjoy it. Despite its CGI and 3D gimmickry, everything is well told and Alice & Co. are fleshed out nicely. The story is coherent and this IMHO, is one of Burton's finest films. Thank you Disney for taking a creative risk."
70 26% The Final Destination (2009) - Rated 28 Aug 2009
"A semi-worthy entry into the series that is enhanced by the 3D. I enjoyed watching it, but can only really recommend it to fans of the series, who will enjoy it more than Final Destination 3, although I hope the DVD treatment for this film is the same with the multiple endings and camera angles. Should make a for a great rental."
80 67% G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009) - Rated 17 Aug 2009
"I enjoyed this alot. Alot of the things from the cartoon were ported over, and it was probably the biggest reason this was as awesome as it is. Bad or good? You decide. I have decided and that is how my rating is as high as it is. The only downside was Cobra Commander's mask and voice. Other than that, no real major problems with this. Go see it or rent it, especially if you thought Transformers: ROTF was a washout."
80 67% The Collector (2009) - Rated 17 Aug 2009
"An interesting and different kind of horror film mashing a few cliches together to produce something different and unaverage. From a couple of people behind the Saw films, we are given a new premise on the home invasion film. Very similar to 2006's Them and 2008's The Strangers, but yet very unlike those films, The Collector gives us a new horror villain I am intrigued enough by to see in a sequel. Give this a rental if you want something different."
85 82% Brüno (2009) - Rated 17 Aug 2009
"Absolutely fucking hysterical. I could not stop laughing for most of this film, and my laughter caused me to miss some of the other jokes, so I will have to go back and rewatch this at another time. Bruno is superior to 2006's Borat in many ways, and Cohen lets the jokes fly with all the colors of the Austrian rainbow. If you had any doubts he would be able to pull these stunts off a second time, there is no doubt here that he was and they are pulled off with brilliance. Stellar and worth a rent"
70 26% Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009) - Rated 17 Aug 2009
"A, well at least I think so, worthy sequel to the HUGE multi-million dollar blockbuster 2 years prior, Transformers: ROTF is just about more of everything: explosions, robots, elements from the cartoon, explosions, Megan Fox, Shia, and did I mention explosions? Michael Bay lied when he said less people, but at least we got more bots, but too many of them disappear too quickly into the film. I liked the runtime, and I liked all the elements from the cartoon brought forth. Worth a rental."
85 82% The Hangover (2009) - Rated 17 Aug 2009
"An EXTREMELY funny movie in both an actual and literal sense as some of the jokes are very bizarre, but will not be lost on most people, and is extreme with its slapstick and violence, and those things also contribute to sheer beautiful comedic timing courtesy of Brad Cooper, Ken Jeong, Ed Helms, and the notable Zach Galifianakis, whose work I have been a fan of for quite some time. Never has a Vegas movie been this funny, and never shall it be again. Many thanks to Todd Phillips and co for this"
85 82% Drag Me to Hell (2009) - Rated 16 Aug 2009
"Sam is back. This is especially a bold statement considering that this is a PG-13 outing, but it is well worth it and the stellar cast is another thing that helps. The movie may be predictable to some, but I guarantee the ending will be a pleasant suprise. If you like Sam Raimi or horror films in general, give this a view."
75 39% Terminator Salvation (2009) - Rated 16 Aug 2009
"I enjoyed this movie outright without trying to think to much about it being tied to the Terminator series, but the tips of that hat to the series contained within are pretty impressive and amusing. I liked the characters overall and noone was too unnecessary or underused. Worth a rental if you have any vested interest in all things Terminator."
80 67% X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) - Rated 16 Aug 2009
"A fun action film with Wolverine and a select choice of Marvel Characters. FINALLY Gambit is on screen and he is pretty cool, as well as Deadpool, who is marvelously cast Ryan Reynolds, who will be playing him in the inevitable Deadpool movie. Scores better than that miserable tripe X3, Wolverine is a flawed, but totally enjoyable summer film that should be seen by ANYONE familiar with the comics."
