It's the first in a string of "spooky police" films -- this case pits a precinct against a horde of vampiric foes on the day of "The Feast of the Hungry Ghosts," complete with dire warning from an ex-cop monk. Surprisingly creepy, often hilarious and sometimes wildly tasteless, this 1987 oddity feels like a better version of the Joe Piscopo vehicle Dead Heat with a healthy dose of Eastern action mayhem.
