Young Sayuri has been living at a boarding school when one day her father suddenly shows up to bring her home. However, right after bringing Sayuri to her new home he has to leave on a business trip. Sayuri soon learns that strange things are going on in this house. She finds out she has a sister, Tamami, who spends most of her time hiding in the attic.Tamami acts in an increasinly threatening way towards Sayuri, but neither Sayuri's mother nor the maid will believe her when she tells them.
