Displaying a sense of humor that can most kindly be described as perverse, Fassbinder follows the exploits of a group of well-heeled German terrorists. Without truly taking sides, the director demonstrates how the terrorists are essentially shooting themselves in the foot. The movie is about a German director who want to make a remake of Pier Paolo Pasolini's Salò o le 120 giornate di Sodoma (1975) (Salo, or The 120 Days of Sodom). Needless to say, something doesn't workout the way he planned. Suicide is just one of the minor problems.
