Antonio, Peppino and Lucia are three brothers who live in the country near Naples. Lucia's son, Gianni, goes to Naples to study medicine, but there he knows a ballet dancer. They fall in love and, when she goes to Milan, Gianni follows her. Informed of this and afraid that their nephew will stop studying, the three Caponi brothers leave for Milan to persuade Gianni to come back and continue studying and abandon the "Malafemmina" (bad girl). In this comedy, two Yankee con artists pose as tourists visiting scenic Naples. There they intend to rob an old church. Before pulling the caper, the two enlist the aid of a local criminal. The theft succeeds, but afterwards the crooks begin double-crossing each other. Murder and mayhem ensues as one American murders the other and then heads for the airport dressed as a nun. Don Felice, the mayor of Roccasecca, has been tricked by his nephew Ciccillo. Ciccillo has told his uncle that he is taking a medical degree in psychiatry when in truth he has been using his money for good times. Having twice wormed money from his uncle, Ciccillo again needs money to pay his gambling debts. He pretends that his boardinghouse is his clinic and the other tenants his patients. By accident Don Felice is frightened to find himself in the "asylum" alone with the "inmates."
