Tara returns to her ancestral estate only to have her clothes explode off her body and a white light enter her chest. Afterwards she's tormented by strange desires and dreams of running through the woods. Her cave-dwelling boyfriend is no help to her. After a bloody revolution in December 1989, Romania is slowly discovering that the old communist apparatchiks still have the power and they become the new capitalists. Dissidents of the old regime become dissidents in the new society, wondering if their sacrifice was in vain.
