Sanjay Singhania (Surya Sivakumar) a rich businessman and Chairman of Air Voice cellular phone company, suffers from short term memory loss following a violent encounter in which his love interest, model Kalpana Shetty (Asin), was killed by a thug called Ghajini Dharmatma (Pradeep Singh Rawat). He tries to track down the killer & avenge Kalpana's death with the aid of instant camera photographs, notes to himself & permanent tattoos on his torso.
