Just look at the title of this one. It's just called "Golf." No reference to the events of a story involving golf, because it's really a showcase for crazy Larry Semon gags involving golf. Some semblance of a situation is introduced in the beginning. At first it seems like an excuse to set up some very punny title cards (which I must admit appreciating), but then it becomes clear that it's also setting up a funny bit wherein Larry is introduced rather destructively playing golf indoors. Homer is lamenting still being single and thinks that he will never find a woman who will want to be Mrs. Brown. Billy gets one of his old girlfriends, Peggy, a telephone operator, reluctantly to set Homer up with one of her friends.

Vera Vague (Barbara Jo Allen) is a clerk in a department store visited by a rich Texan, Pan McGrew (William Hall), in this Columbia All-Star Comedy (production number 7428), and when McGrew announces that the girl he marries must be a two-fisted, bronco-bustin' gal, Vera and Mazie (Claire Carleton) make a shambles out of the store by trying to prove which one is the toughest.

Complications and circumstances soon put Vera in a position of having to tell several fibs in order to pull herself out of a mess with her boss and her boy friend. The student tells the proprietor that if he will returns the I.O.U.s signed by a student, he will see to it that the students visit his place every night. He, of course, is the student who signed the tab. But the real Dean then shows up.

Two bumbling, would-be private detectives, Tom Kennedy and Monte Collins, are hired to protect a maestro's valuable Stradvarius. But there is a girl named Rosina and a pool hall involved and that means trouble ahead for the pair.

Andy mistakes a lounging (wasn't she always) Barbara Pepper for a mannequin and takes a shoe off of her foot. This does not go unnoted by her highly jealous boyfriend Vernon Dent, who pokes Andy in the jaw.

El Brendel gets married and his troubles begin. In the Pullman car on his honeymoon, he gets into the wrong berth and has wife trouble; at the hotel, he gets into the wrong room and has husband trouble; then his wife's ex-husband arrives on the scene.

He is rehired as a partner, however, when the friend places a large order with Hugh.

Gus, a cab driver is in love with the company owner's daughter, but mistakes Dick Lane a harmless, escaped asylum inmate, for the boss and takes him to lunch, and afterwards has the boss picked up as a mental case. Gus further maddens to boss by wrecking the cab.

Harry Gribbon is an incredibly talented, but reluctant college football player who is dating one of his teachers, Geneva Mitchell. A jealous rival tries sabotaging Harry.

Monte and Vernon are incompetent window washer and janitor, respectively, and cross boss Bobby Burns, getting fired. They get new jobs moving and interior decorating. At a client's home, Monte is frustrated by his inability to put a stack of books into a hope chest, and starts a book-throwing fight with Dent. Afterward, the room is left in an oddly, but mildly redecorated state.

And his brother-in-law's "atomically-energized" gasoline ruins Andy's car.

Motorboat Mamas is a silent comedy short.

Billy treats his marriage vows lightly, and his wife suspects him. Nieghbor Vernon is murderously jealous. Billy sends his wife some silk pajamas to mollify her, but they're sent to Mrs. Dent by mistake. Billy innocently trying to be helpful is almost caught in the wrong apartment, but a card that accompanied the silkies will fall into the wrong hands.

Hugh is driving his brother-in-law's car, bumps into a fire hydrant and drenches a pretty blonde. She gets into the car, removes her dress to dry it, puts a lap-robe around herself...and then her husband shows up and tees off on Hugh. The husband land's in jail. Later, Hugh has to go to the Blonde's apartment, on business for his boss.
