There really was a Spirit Lake Massacre in which 40-50 settlers were killed by a branch of the Sioux tribe. However, it was NOT the branch from which Sitting Bull originated and the leader was a guy named Inkpaduta. But "Inkpaduta at the Spirit Lake Massacre" doesn't have such a nice ring to it, so the folks changed this and many other details. Four women, not two, were kidnapped--and two of them were then killed. (imdb)

Jack Meadows and sidekick Toby are looking for whiskey smugglers along the Canadian border. They find a badly wounded Seriff who earlier caught one of them and a nearby hoofprint of a horse with a broken shoe. Setting up a blacksmith shop, they soon find the owner of that horse and replace the shoe with another that will let them trace him. (imdb)

When the California border town of Caliboro appears to be menaced by a bandit known as "The Black Mask," the local padre entrusts the sheriff with the church funds. The culprit, Ramon Gonzales, kills the sheriff during an attempted robbery, but shifts the blame on Deputy Sheriff Philip Morgan, who manages to stop the robbery. Morgan disguises himself as The Black Mask to track down the real villain, but is captured and threatened with lynching by the townspeople.
