    Lucky to Me is a 1939 British musical comedy film directed by Thomas Bentley and starring Stanley Lupino, Phyllis Brooks and Barbara Blair. It was based on Lupino's own 1928 stage show So This is Love which he had co-written with Arthur Rigby. The film was made by ABPC at its Elstree Studios. It was the last film of Lupino who had made a string of successful musical comedies during the Thirties.

He offers his hotel bedroom to the millionaires daughter to use to avoid her boyfriend,who is actually a crook, His boss arrives unexpectedly and as there is no other room available expects to share the hotel room with him, he explains the situation by saying he had just married the girl. Obviously lots of comedic situations arise because of this.

    A couple of out of work songwriters try to persuade a wealthy stockbroker to back them. But he turns out to be broke as they are. A series of mistaken identities, misunderstandings and general confusion as our heroes attempt to make a living as songwriters in 1930s Britain. Well paced acting with some quite amusing lines, together with some reasonably good song and dance make this amusing Ealing Studio production worth a viewing. (imdb)
