Sreelatha

Vinod (Dileep), an MCA graduate, still hasn't figured out what to do with his life. His parents decide to send him to his sister Vimala's (Seetha) house. She is married to Shaji Raghavan (Mukesh), an engineer with the Irrigation Department. The idea was to put some sense into Vinod's head. But Shaji isn't all that happy to have Vinod at home because his unmarried younger sister too is living with them. He doesn't want the younger sister to fall in love with his irresponsible brother-in-law.

Velu (Jayan), a rowdy who assaulted people for money, & Malathi (Shubha), a prostitute, form an odd bond of friendship which later turns into love. They decide to quit their bad ways & turn over a new leaf, but, Velu's stepbrother Gopi (Sukumaran), a serial womanizer & who had no love for Velu, doesn't let them be. Gopi, who happened to be an old customer of Malathi, takes a fancy to her again, & demands she sleep with him. When she rejects him, Gopi exacts revenge by raping a pregnant Malathi.

Guileless like a child and ever so full of life, Ambili is beloved by everyone in his village. The story traces Ambili's outlook towards life and of challenges others surrounding him that face him on an everyday basis. (imdb)
