Power plant owner Kailash (Dharmendra) desires Asha (Rakhee Gulzar), daughter of wealthy businessman Mehta (Iftekhar), while Kailash's uncle Dr. Ramakanth Khurana (Madan Puri) developes solar powered electricity which makes him and Kailash rich. Asha's fiancé, Jeevan (Shatrughan Sinha), plots for her to marry Kailash so that Jeevan's boss, Mehta, could lay his hands on Kailash's newfound wealth while Jeevan hires some thugs to blackmail Asha to get the solar power formula for himself.

Bombay-based Young Raja witnesses his parents commit suicide after being cheated on and defeated in a game of cards by an unknown male. He grows up under the mentorship of Madanlal, who witnessed the cheating incident, with only one motive - to avenge his parents' death, and becomes an expert at cards. Enroute to Mahabaleshwar, He meets with wealthy Renu, both fall in love and gets married. Her widowed father gives him full control of his business as well as lots of money.
