Sharath

Aravindan (Dileep) is an expert tailor of ladies' garments, who is slightly challenged mentally, and is called by everyone as 'Pottan' (dunce). Aravindan is happy in his small world. He is in love with Anitha (Kavya Madhavan), his childhood friend, whom he lovingly calls Unnimol. Though Anitha likes him and is very free and friendly with him, her love for him is of a different kind. She has a world of her own which includes friends, college-mates, her uncles and her lover Jeevan (Jishnu).

Vishal Krishnamoorthy (Mohanlal), a down on luck musician leading a drunken & debt-laden life, gets a breakthrough when the principal (Janardanan) of Holy Father college, his alma mater, invites him there to direct a musical drama. There, under the guidance of a mysterious spirit, he gives new direction to the story of the drama. He also tries to unlock the reason why the owner of the college, Angelina Ignatious (Jayapradha), obsesses about a cryptic musical instrument called "Seven Bells".

Molly (Revathy), a naturalized American citizen living in Kerala was about to wind up her activities in Kerala & return to US when she gets a rude shock - a sizable tax bill from the govt. tax department. Her attempts to reverse the bill actually worsens the situation & she gets slapped with an even heftier bill. Chagrined by her perceived corruption of the system, she decides to fight the bill in court, which pits her directly against the Asst. Insurance Commissioner Pranav Roy (Prithviraj).

Unni (Jayaram), a masterful chenda (a drum) player & a married man who had no interest in his own wife Kalyani (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy), is drawn to dancer Nalini (Kadambari). They have a short, but torrid affair, but they are pulled apart by Nalini's brother (Siddique), who marries Nalini off elsewhere. Unni turns into an alcoholic with deteriorating physical & mental health, whilst Nalini's new husband (Vineeth) turns out to be someone who thinks & acts like a woman.

A lonely 14-year old, Janakikutty (Kumari Joemol), befriends the friendly ghost of a woman, Kunjathol (Chanchal), who was killed by her unfaithful husband. But Janakikutty's interactions with Kunjathol, whom the others can't see, is interpreted by her family as her being possessed by a ghost & they try to exorcise her.

Maya is about a village called Mayavanam which is based far away from the city. Actor Aari reaches the location following his curiosity after reading a book which states that years ago, the place used to be a mental hospital. Now in ruins, the place situated among forest area is totally abandoned and people who have visited the place believe that there is some evil spirit lurking around it. The film promises some jump scares as well and the back story of the film certainly is interesting. (imdb)
