Kartal Tibet returns as Tarkan in the second in the series of films about a lone warrior and his wolf. Actually this is the first "story" telling the story of the events leading up to Tarkan's birth, his being raised by wolves after his family was killed by raiders and his ultimate revenge against those who did him and his people wrong. TARKAN VERSUS THE VIKINGS features a mustached villain, who is the leader of a Viking clan that worships an octopus god-monster. Tarkan goes to the Orient in an action filled attempt at mixing the Turkish hero with martial arts. Its action packed and fun, but the martial arts just seem silly (imdb)

This seems to be the Turkish answer to the Hercules/ Sword and Sandal movies that were being cranked out in the 1960's. We have fights, blood, topless women, supernatural beings, and enough seriousness to make this more than just a silly adventure film. Its also one of five films that Turkish film makers made in the late 60's and early 70's with the same character. (imdb)

All Tarkan adaptations - except two - feature Kartal Tibet as the protagonist, in a series that ran from 1969 to 1973. However, the first Tarkan film is Tarkan: Canavarlı Kule (Tarkan: The Monster Tower), which was shot and released separately from the first Tibet Tarkan (Tarkan: Mars'ın Kılıcı), following a dispute about the casting of the lead actor.
