Undercover agent Mark Owens is sent to aid the Border Patrol in the trans-border town of Hernandez in breaking up a well-organized band of smugglers. Since the town is also noted for a place for obtaining quick marriages on the Mexico side, Mark obtains the job of pilot on "The Honeymoon Express." He does not realize that he has been recognized as a G-Man by "Hot Cake" Joe, operator of a sandwich stand and an informant for the smugglers. (imdb)

Brown plays Click Haley, a wise-guy naval cadet who learns the hard way to tow the line and honor the traditions of the academy. Cromwell is cast as Click's more serious roommate Boyce Avery, and it perhaps goes without saying that the two heroes have a falling out over the affections of heroine Madeline Deming (Rosalind Keith). New York City fireman Bill O'Connell is assigned to the Arson Sqaud with the job of apprehending the for-profit gang of arsonists who are spreading terror and loss of property, including human life. When his friend and battalion chief, J.P. Riley, is killed fighting one of the set fires, Bill declines the offered promotion to Riley's post in order to keep working against the arson gang. Following a long investigation, Police Detective-Lieutenant Anthony "Tony" Roberts becomes convinced that there is some powerful unknown-master-mind leader behind the gangs of crooks who are terrorizing the city, and it has something to do with paroled convicts. He sets up a scheme with his supervisor to have himself shamed by being demoted to a patrolman, and then caught in the act of receiving bribe-money from a racketeer.

The bank has been robbed, the night watchman killed and the safe opened. The townspeople want John as he was the only one with the combination. Clint gets John out of town but before the mob turns ugly but the deputy is shot when he and Clint go to get John at the shack. Things look bad for John, but Clint does not believe that John did the robbery and he will look for the real crooks.

Rudolph Mordini (Henry Mollison) is a Houdini-type magician who claims he couldn't have possibly murdered his wife, as he was enclosed, at the time of the killing, in a sealed locked-on-the-outside box at the bottom of the ocean. Cub newspaper reporter Larry McGill (Charles Quigley) scoops other reporters and the police by solving the crime himself.

Jack Holt stars as Robert Bailey, a Henry Ford-like auto industrialist who decides to give his millions away to various charitable causes. Naturally, this arouses hostility amongst Bailey’s friends, relatives and associates, some of whom have murder on their minds.
