Luca's father is a bank manager who doubles as a loan shark - and Bruno is heavily in debt to him. Luca is disgusted by his father's deadbeat double life and, we feel, shamed by his father's implied contempt for him.

Albania 1943: After the Italian surrender, the Germans occupy the country, so the peoples' situation becomes more and more chaotic. Harun Bonata, a clever trader with a big heart, hides three fugitives in his cellar: the partisan Quazim, the Jewish watchmaker Hoakin and the Italian soldier Giulio. Nevertheless, he makes a good deal with the German officer Franz.

The story takes place in March 1999, Kosovo. it is the period of NATO bombing. Massive displacement of Albanians on ethnic basis. Terror, fear, insecurity, hunger has plagued Gjakova town located on the border with Albania. This does not exclude that along the narration the situations are built on a logic flow, moments of humor, eroticism, that occasionally avoid blackness of circumstances, which cross the theme of the film.
