Having never heard a Viennese waltz, young Queen Victoria orders the British ambassador to Austria to check out a prominent composer named Joseph Lanner. The ambassador intends to bring Lanner and his orchestra to England, but is sidetracked when discovers that first violinist Strauss is the most musically gifted of Lanner's aggregation. When Strauss is presented to Victoria's court, a "war of music" develops between the young violinist and pompous English composer Sir Philip.

There's hokum in abundance when lascivious lothario Philip falls into a marriage trap concocted by Gaby and Viola. Knowing that Philip prefers the sexual company of married women, Gaby and Viola exchange identities, much to the discomfort of Gaby's jealous husband David. The misunderstandings multiply as the four protagonists attend the annual Monte Carlo motor race, then head off for a zany ocean voyage.

Comedy with an Egyptian backdrop: Businessman Tobby and the Countess Stafanie wish to take all the fun away from their single parents and make them marry each other. Sunshine Susie was a remake of the German film The Private Secretary, and retained many of the originals general characteristics. Renete Muller who starred in the original, was again cast as the country girl seeking fame and fortune in the big city. She takes a secretarial job at a bank, and sets about catching the heart of her boss, Herr Hasel (Jack Hulbert).
