Everything breathes peace in the old merchant's house. Mads has to go to the station and pick up the merchant Kelbjerg's daughter Ida. She has just passed the high school diploma and comes home to have a much needed summer vacation.

The titular villain is an infamous international criminal, Mrs. Valentin Kempel, known as “The Predator Spider” due to her habit of ensnaring innocent victims in her web.
