Priya (Sada) is the daughter of a wealthy gangster (Fefsi Vijayan) & is engaged to the ACP (Rahman). On the day of the marriage Priya is mistakenly kidnapped by Subramani aka "Bottle Mani" (Madhavan) & "Auto" (Vivek). The rest of the story is how Mani & Priya fall for each other and how Mani saves her from the clutches of her dad and fiancé.

'Pudhu Pudhu Arthangal' is the tale of a famous singer Mani Bharathi (Rahman) and his extremely jealous wife (Geetha). Rock N' Roll tells the story of Chandramouli (Mohanlal), a drummer of international repute. He comes to Chennai to do the drums for a song for an old friend Guna (Siddique) where he meets Daya Srinivasan (Lakshmi Rai). Dr. Isaac Peter (Mammootty) leads an unhappy life with a suspicious & nagging wife Clara (Srividya) & a helpless daughter Sicily. A new family moves in as their neighbors which has a similarly suspicious husband Vasu Pillai (Thilakan), a meek & suffering wife Ammu (Sulakshana) & their son Sanju (Rahman). Clara starts suspecting Isaac of having an affair with Ammu, & Vasu Pillai suspects the same. In the midst of all this, their children fall in love with each other, complicating matters further.

Sugunan (Jayaram), a KSEB overseer, obsessed with electricity & its usage, treats even his family secondary to it. His long suffering wife Bindu (Gopika) struggles to maintain the house & care for him & their daughter Anjana (Niveda), but gets no credit from Sugunan, who thinks Bindu has it easy. Finally, Bindu snaps & goes on a strike by refusing to do any household chores or uxorial duties. An egoistic Sugunan vows to carry on without Bindu, but soon realizes that it's not easy as he thought.

After the death of his altruist father, Roy Varghese (Mammootty) agrees to continue anonymously sponsoring Sherly (Shobana), a bright orphan student. Sherly ends up going to the same college as Roy's niece Mercy (Sabitha Anand), & they get introduced. Roy recognizes Sherly, but Sherly falls in love with Roy, not knowing that he is her sponsor. Roy backs off citing their age gap & tries to make Sherly fall for his friend's brother Baby (Rahman), but a determined Sherly tries to win Roy over.

DSP Jayaprakash aka Jay (Prabhu) has long been on the trail of dreaded criminal David Billa (Ajith) & finally kills him by accident. To catch the whole of Billa's gang, along with his boss, the mysterious Jagadish, Jay gets Velu (Ajith), Billa's lookalike, to pose as Billa & infiltrate his gang. In an encounter, Jay gets killed, & the blame falls on Velu, whom the cops assume to be Billa. Velu goes on the run, with the cops & Jagadish's gang, who learned that he isn't Billa, on his tail.

Karanan (Mammootty), a boater, gets jailed for 5 years for hacking some goons while protecting his pal Kumaran (Vincent). Upon his release, he returns to the harbor to find that Kumaran has taken his girl Madhavi (Menaka) & his boat & is a bigwig now. Karanan takes to boozing & petty smuggling, & later befriends 2 people whom he takes under his wings - a lassie Devayani (Seema) who ran away from her tart sister & pimp brother-in-law & Gopi (Mohanlal), a grad in search of the man who cheated him.

Jayarajan (Mohanlal), the Asst. Manager, Chandran (Rahman), the accountant & Johnny (Nedumudi), the driver, plan to rob from their company 'Thenmallay Plantations'. When Manager A.K. Menon (Janardanan) foils their plan, Jayarajan murders Menon. From then on, Jayarajan picks off one by one, everyone in his path to the top - usurping the company itself. Chandran & Johnny, horrified & repentant, keeps mum, out of fear for Jayarajan, while cop Ravi (Ratheesh) suspects Jayarajan & gets on his tail.

Alice (Suhasini), who lives with her brother, army officer Capt. George (Prem Prakash), is an English teacher at the Good Shepherd school in Ooty. The neglected & unruly son of MP Xavier Puthooran (Jose Prakash), Ravi Puthooran (Rahman), joins the school, whom Alice turns into a prize student, through her efforts. Her boyfriend, Capt. Bhaskaran aka Bhasi aka Pachu (Jayaram), the grandson & lone surviving blood relation of Melevettil Thampi (Thilakan), who retired as a Railway Divisional Account, comes to visit his grandfather for the vacation, after a long 6 years, along with friends Ranjith Menon (Asokan), Lopes (Rahman) & Krishnankutty (Ajayan). Raju (Rahman), industrialist K. Krishna Menon's (Jose Prakash) problem child, gets a raw deal from his step-mom Sumathi (Shubha), after his mom's death & Menon's remarriage. Nandana was in town to get Sumesh back to Bangalore, while Sumesh was hellbent on killing his ex-partner & current rival Panackal Das (Manoj K. Jayan), who had gypped him. Ayyappan Pillai (Karamana Janardanan Nair) & Thankappan Pillai (Thilakan), friends, neighbors & business partners, plans to have Thankappan's son Raju (Rahman) marry Ayyappan's daughter Radha (Ahalya). However, their kids, both of whom who were in love with someone else, blocks the marriage by causing misunderstandings between their families. But when Raju's & Radha's romances fail & they fall in love with each other, now they have to reunite their warring families, for them to unite themselves.

Pappan (Rahman), a famous singer, gets killed by his rival Umesh (Jose), a week before his wedding to his girlfriend Zarina (Lizy).
