In the spring of 1945, the commanding officer of the National Armed Forces in Mazowsze and older brother of 20-year-old Mieczyslaw Dziemieszkiewicz, is assassinated by Soviet soldiers. Mieczyslaw then joins the National Military Union. Głęboka Woda (Deep Water) is a series about the employees and residents of a social welfare center. In their professional careers, they encounter various problems: alcoholism, domestic violence, drug addiction, homelessness and unemployment. They help exploited, illegal workers, immigrants from the East, and the Gypsy minority. They often deal with the problem of orphanage of children of Polish emigrants or children from broken families.

Dramatic and fascinating story about a woman who, due to a series of circumstances, decides to play a dangerous game with the mafia. The main character of the series, Carmen, is the daughter of a mafia boss and wife of a cigarette smuggler. Despite this, the woman tries to lead a normal life, away from the criminal underworld.
