After a bloody revolution in December 1989, Romania is slowly discovering that the old communist apparatchiks still have the power and they become the new capitalists. Dissidents of the old regime become dissidents in the new society, wondering if their sacrifice was in vain. The never ending transition is affecting a non-conformist worker and his family in many wicked ways.

In this social drama, peasants revolt against the landowners, the social elite, and police after years of deplorable conditions of poverty and injustice. A peasant woman is raped by a lecherous wealthy lesbian, and chaos breaks out in the rural areas where the poor suffer the most. (allmovie.com)
