A Scottish woman who attends school in Paris comes home for the summer and helps take in the straw, where she meets an attractive and simple man. They begin a torrid affair despite the differences in their lifestyles.

Based on real events in the second half of the 19th century, the film tells the story of Bavarian poacher Georg Jennerwein and the rivalry for the affections of a girl between him and his closest friend.

Alfons Zischl, mayor of Hindafing, tries to give his community a new image by building a mall for organic food. Soon enough the whole village is taking part in his corrupt games, entangling Zischl in growing debt and dubious obligations. (imdb)
