    Max (TIM OLIVER SCHULTZ) and Inge (PAULA KALENBERG) can't stand each other since Max's band "Systemfehler" made fun of her by singing their greatest hit "Wenn Inge tanzt" (When Inge is dancing). Before an important gig, guitarist Joscha (CONSTANTIN VON JASCHEROFF) injures his hands. Since Inge is a very good guitarist and the only one who could replace Joscha, Max and his friends ask for her help. Inge agrees under the condition that they are not allowed to play "Wenn Inge tanzt" anymore.

    The singing trio of Susanne, Dieter and Juergen work at an unsuccessful student cabaret. Mr Brenders, a rich entrepreneur offers to fund them, if they change the name of the cabaret to the Lu-Lila bar with a roaring twenties motive. Disguised in black outfits and wigs, the trio soon find out Brenders has them recreating an unsolved murder case from 26 Februari 1927 in which he himself may or may not have been involved.
