Maliakkal Thommi (Suresh Gopi), the son of Maliakkal Ouseppachan (Madhu), is the Chief Minister of Kerala. Ouseppachan is a "Gandhian" who always stands up for truth. The post of Chief Ministership which was offered to Ouseppachan by his party's High Command was passed onto Thommi by Ouseppachan. This pits Thommi against some corrupt & powerful politicians. But Thommi doesn't bow down to pressure and brings to light all the evil elements for everyone to see.

Advocate Kurishummoottil Mariamma is known for her rhetoric and volatile temper while in court. Her only son is Vava, a proud and arrogant brat who looks after the family farm when he is not engaged in fisticuffs in the neighbourhood. Though he is the village bully, in front of his mother he is as tame as a house cat, and never does anything against her wishes. Mangalassery Neelakantan (Mohanlal) is the heir to the well known Mangalaserry family, who squanders away his father's wealth and good name, but is loved by the people who knows him well. The rivalry between Mangalaserry Neelakantan (Mohanlal) and Mundakkal Shekaran (Napolean), who has been the arch rival of Neelakantan from their childhood days, is the main theme of the movie.

Isahak (Mohanlal) is a fisherman who falls in love with Devi (Laila). They get married at sea and spend their first night at sea. Monichan (Mammootty) is a hardworking farmer who leads a happy life in a village in the hills of Idukki along with wife Susamma and their two smart daughters. Monichan decides to admit his daughters in a convent school in the nearby town to give them better education. In the town, he meets Soman Pillai (Jagathy Sreekumar) who makes him a partner in all his illegal activities. But soon a heart-breaking catastrophe happens in Monichan's life which makes him realize his mistakes.

Vinod (Dileep), an MCA graduate, still hasn't figured out what to do with his life. His parents decide to send him to his sister Vimala's (Seetha) house. She is married to Shaji Raghavan (Mukesh), an engineer with the Irrigation Department. The idea was to put some sense into Vinod's head. But Shaji isn't all that happy to have Vinod at home because his unmarried younger sister too is living with them. He doesn't want the younger sister to fall in love with his irresponsible brother-in-law.

Cuba Mukundan (Sreenivasan) is an 'impractical idealist.' He is a staunch leftist who lives for the movement. Circumstances force him to take up a job in Dubai. But he finds himself a misfit in a highly materialistic world. He has always had a soft corner for China as a result of his leftist leanings and when he meets a Chinese girl, she quickly finds a special place in his heart as she symbolizes China to him. Through her, he also learns of the Communist failings in other parts of the world.

Achuthan (Manian Pillai Raju) is in love with Nandini (Menaka), who is his cousin (maternal uncle's daughter). But his uncle K. P. Thankappan Nair (Nedumudi Venu) will only allow a person from abroad to marry her. So Achuthan pretends to leave town to go to Dubai, while really staying at a lodge in a nearby town, to trick his uncle.

Ravunni Menon (Nedumudi Venu), although a big industrialist, hates all things modern and loves his peaceful rural life. After constant nagging by his wife, Revathi (Sukumari), they move to the city. There, Ravunni Menon's peaceful life is shattered as he starts suspecting Revathi of having an affair with Gopalakrishnan (Mohanlal), a local electric goods store owner. Gopalakrishnan, on the other hand, is trying to woo another Revathi (Menaka), whom he believes to be the daughter of Ravunni Menon.

When relatives of the wealthy and of the royal bloodline Udaya Varma (Nedumudi Venu) learn that they can get hold of his wealth only after his death, they decided to get Udaya Varma killed. One of the relatives Ravi Varma (Sreenivasan), goes to Mumbai in search of a killer for hire. There he meets an old acquaintance Jamal (Mammukoya) who introduces him to Abdullah (Mohanlal) as the prospective killer. Abdullah, who is strapped for cash, assumes the name of Ananthan to get close to Udaya Varma.

'Lal Salaam' chronicles the personal and professional life of two life long friends and communist party workers Nettur Stephen (Mohanlal) and DK (Murali).

Vijayan (Sreenivasan), a school teacher, believes that his Economics degree is enough for him to succeed in business. Taking long leaves from work, he roams around with his business schemes, all of which turn out to be failures. Karunan (Thilakan), Vijayan's father, as a last resort to reform his son, asks him to make a pilgrimage to Sabarimala. Despite his initial protests, Vijayan makes the pilgrimage. Upon his return, his family is dismayed to see that matters have swung to the other extreme.

Thalathil Dineshan (Sreenivasan) lives according to the advice he gets from the psychiatric column of a weekly. Now he is facing a big problem - his marriage is fixed, his fiancée is beautiful and he is dark & short. He writes to the weekly for advice to win over the girl but never receives any reply. Then he turns to his friend, a local newspaper reporter. Dineshan does several foolish things as per his advice, to win over his wife & slowly looses his grip over reality & ends up in an asylum.

Easwara Pillai (Thilakan) and Devakiyamma (Srividya) has two sons - Unnikrishnan (Mohanlal) and Ramakrishnan (Srinivasan). Unnikrishnan is an executive, engaged to marry Meera (Shobhana) and is under pressure to take the reins of her father's business empire. Ramakrishnan, a doctor, is unhappy, childless & has a nagging wife. Unexpectedly, Devakiyamma gets pregnant at her late age. Unnikrishnan is forced to be a surrogate parent to his new sister, whom he takes care of as his own daughter.

Unnikrishnan (Prithviraj), an honest SI (Sub-Inspector) of Police, is in stark constrast to his elder brother Ramakrishnan (Mukesh). While the former is fearless and takes on any criminal without hesitation, the latter is known in the police circles as the "spineless policeman". When Unnikrishnan gets transferred to Ramakrishnan's police station as the SI, he takes on the corrupt local leaders, cops and hoodlums there, which results in consequences for the peaceful life of their family.

Unnikrishnan (Mohanlal) is a police officer who is sent to track down a college professor turned dangerous criminal, Kurian Fernandez (Nedumudi Venu). Along with his friend Peter Kaliyikka (Mukesh), he performs surveillance on Fernandez's daughter Gaadha (Girija) who lives in a flat with her aunt (Sukumari), to gather the details and whereabouts of her father. Black (Suresh Gopi), who got the name due to his skin color & the fact that he only wears black clothes, is the son of Pathrose (Nedumudi Venu) & the faithful servant & henchman of Tharakan (Rajan P. Dev). Dr. Meenakshi, the daughter of Tharakan's friend, Praful Kumar (Ashish Vidyarthi), comes from Mumbai for a meeting with an Ayurveda expert & her guru Moosad (Thilakan). After 'Nadodikkattu (1987)' and 'Pattana Pravesham (1988)', CIDs Ramdas (Mohanlal) and Vijayan (Sreenivasan) are back for another wacky adventure. 'Chankoottam' Bhasi (Kalabhavan Mani) is a goon who turns out to be even more feared than his father 'Chemparunthu' Bhaskaran (Rajan P. Dev), in the village of Moolikkandam. The Panchayat President Madhavan Nair (Nedumudi Venu), desperate to stop Bhasi's atrocities, brings in a young man who begrudges Bhasi, Mustafa. After a duel between the two, Mustafa dies & Bhasi is convicted. Years later, when Bhasi gets back, he finds that his old crony Rajendran (Riyaz Khan) now rules over the village.

Writer Balachandran's (Mammootty) uneventful life gets a jolt when a known literary figure, C.P. (Nedumudi Venu), praises his unfinished novel as the new voice of Malayalam literature. Sivadasan (Mukesh), a small-time publisher, befriends Balachandran & motivates him to complete the book, also hoping to get the rights to publish it. But when Balachandran experiences writer's block, an extra impetus is provided by the return of his old sweetheart Padma (Khushboo), just separated from her husband.

P.K. Sudhakaran (Sreenivasan) comes to the village of Velliyankara as the newly appointed teacher at the new village primary school, only to find that Madhavan Ezhuthachan (Nedumudi Venu), the person who made the school possible, & who had taken Rs. 30,000 from him for the job, has died & his son Prabhakaran (Murali) is trying to block the school from opening & to strip his step-mother & step-sister from Ezhuthachan's assets. Sudhakaran decides to legally take on Prabhakaran & get his job back.

Twin brothers Navneethakrishnan aka "Kishan" & Ananthakrishnan aka "Ananthu" are poles apart - while the former had run away from home as a child & is now a goon of the Mangalore underworld don Govindji (Thilakan), the latter is a college lecturer in Ottapalam. Ananthu visits Kishan from time to time, determined to reform him & bring him back to Ottapalam. Kishan falls out with Govindji & Govindji, in trying to get Kishan killed, kills Ananthu instead. Kishan decides to go undercover as Ananthu.

Kunjukuttiyamma (Lakshmi), the grand old lady of the Kannettumkara family, have three daughters, all of whom have plans to snare Kochukrishnan (Mukesh), her only grandson, for their own daughters, and thus lay their hands on her vast assets. Kochukrishnan & his friend Harindran (Siddique) hatch various plans to escape this, but to no avail. In between this, a girl named Gopika (Sowmya) shows up claiming to be Kunjukuttiyamma's grandchild & her son Ambotti's (Nedumudi Venu) illegitimate daughter.

Naren (Mohanlal), a hotshot architect, woos Nandha (Revathy) & they get engaged. Later, when Naren dies in a tragic accident, Nandha accompanies his body to his hometown of Pattambi where she is shocked to meet Naren's identical twin Unni (Mohanlal). Having never known about Naren having a twin, Nandha tries to come to terms with it & also finds solace in Unni. Unni's parents plan to get Nandha married to Unni, not knowing that Unni is in love with the maid girl of the house, Bhadhra (Shobana).

Nicholas (Nedumudi Venu) & son Freddy (Mohanlal), who are more of friends than father-son, make a living doing odd jobs. They become involved with two criminals - JJ (Thilakan) & Chacha (K.P. Ummer), when JJ recruits them to kidnap Chacha, but Chacha escapes. Later, they learn that JJ & Chacha are after a piano which belonged to Freddy's girlfriend's dad. Suspecting that there is more to the piano than meets the eye, Freddy & Nicholas also go in search of it, with pal Appaji (N.L. Balakrishnan).

Manikyan (Mohanlal), his master Srikrishnan (Nedumudi) & Srikrishnan's sister Yeshodhamma (Kaviyoor Ponnamma) live in Srihalli, a remote village bordering Kerala & Karnataka. On a trip together, Manikyan & Srikrishnan get stuck with a drama artiste, Karthumpi (Shobana), whom they also end up saving from some goons. While escaping, Manikyan & Karthumpi gets lost in the woods & circumstances cause them to fall in love. Back home, Srikrishnan, smitten with Karthumpi, also makes plans to marry her.

Athaniparambil Balachandran (Mohanlal), affectionately known as "Balettan" to everyone, including his kids, is a do-gooder & simpleton who is always ready to help his villagers without regard for his own welfare. His father, a retired postmaster (Nedumudi Venu), dies after confessing to Balettan about his second wife & two daughters. Balettan keeps this a secret & looks after his stepmother & stepsisters without the knowledge of his own family, which leads to flashpoints in his personal life.

Sivaraman (Mohanlal) & Govindankutty (Mukesh), both on the streets in Mumbai & nowhere to go, take part in a bank heist with Thomas (Cochin Hanifa), his younger brother Tyutty (Jagadish) & girlfriend Elena (Sucheta). Thomas gets caught & in a bid to hide out & get some money for visas so they could escape to the Gulf, Sivaraman & Govindankutty hideout in the house of an elderly blind couple as their long gone grandson Kunjunni - except Govindankutty pretends to be the body & Sivaraman the voice.

After his son dies in a hospital, a nomad from Kabul ("Kabooliwala") (Nedumudi) kidnaps the doctor Sethu's (M.G. Soman) son Unni, & disappears. 20 years later, Sethu & his family finds Unni, but he now lives as "Munna", part of a nomadic group of circus performers & is in love with Laila (Charmila), the owner of the circus. Munna is torn between the two families, & tries to reunite with Laila, with the help of two homeless litter-gatherers - Kannas (Innocent) & Kadalaas (Jagathi Sreekumar).

Dr. Annie (Heera) completes her studies in the US & returns to join her uncle David Kurishinkal's (Soman) 'Span Hospital', to practice under famed surgeon Dr. Roy Mathews (Mohanlal). Annie initially thinks Roy is a boor & hates him, but soon she sees his humanitarian side & they fall in love & get married. When Roy was out of town, Annie stumbles upon an internal organ racket in the hospital. She is killed & the blame falls on Roy. Roy escapes from jail to find Annie's killer - a one-armed man.

Shambu, a master stone sculptor from Thanjavur who has been mourning his dead wife for long, goes in place of this father Sthaanu Aashaan (Narendra Prasad), to finish sculpting a temple in Kerala, which his father had left unfinished when he eloped with Shambu's mother, who was the princess of the palace there. There, Durga (Bhanupriya), Shambu's cousin, gets attracted to him & tries to win him over, with the help of their grandmother (T.R. Omana), & angering her father Bhadran (Captain Raju).

"Aadu" Thoma (Mohanlal), a notorious rowdy in the small town of Injimukku & his father, Chacko (Thilakan), a famed Math teacher who was felicitated by the Indian President, both hate each other & isn't on talking terms, with Thoma's mother Mary (K.P.A.C. Lalitha) & sister Jancy (Chippy), torn between them. Thoma's old childhood friend Thulasi (Urvashi) returns to town, & although Thoma gets initially irritated by her antics, he starts reforming bit by bit. However, Thoma's old foes don't let go.

Kunjan (Dileep), a humpback, meets a blind girl Chembakam (Navya Nair), whom he cares for after her father's death in an accident & also pays for a surgery to regain her eyesight. Prasad (Dileep) is a college student who is mourning over the loss of his girlfriend who died in an accident during a rape attempt, by the hands of Vasu (Saikumar). When he learns that his girlfriend had donated her eyes & those were given to Chembakam, he starts obsessing about Chembakam's eyes & begins stalking her.

Appukuttan (Mohanlal) hospitalizes a rich heiress, Chandra (Sukanya), who was involved in an accident & gets mistaken for her husband Alfie. Desperate to raise cash to save his dad who is caught in a peculation suit & realizing that his only chance to get some money is to act as her husband, Appukuttan acts as her husband at the hospital in front of Chandra's family, & his illiterate fruit juice vendor friend Noor (Sreenivasan) acts as Alfie at Chandra's father Varma (Nedumudi Venu)'s office.

Venugopal Varma (Nedumudi Venu), a conman, cons businessman Madhavan Nair (K.P. Ummer) by claiming to grant him an Engineering college license, & later becomes close to Madhavan Nair & his daughter Suhasini (Lizy) by lying to be from a royal family. He moves to the city, leaving behind his girlfriend Leela (Menaka), who later learns that she is pregnant. When Madhavan Nair finds out the truth about Venugopal, he kicks him out, & in revenge, Venugopal runs for office & becomes Education Minister.

Kumaran (Mohanlal) runs the college canteen in Mahatma College & has his hand in everything from the running of the college to the protection of the students. Sethunathan (Siddique), Education Minister, tries various tricks to acquire the college, but Kumaran foils them all. Finally, Sethunathan traps Kumaran in the form of a planned bus accident of the college tour bus Kumaran was driving, causing the death of many students, & landing the blame on Kumaran. Kumaran now must prove his innocence.

Dileep Kumar (Mukesh) gets transferred to the remote hamlet of Mutharam Kunnu as the Post Master of the local post office & falls in love with Ammu (Lizy), the daughter of Kochukuttan Pillai (Nedumudi), a local bigwig obsessed with wrestling. Determined to only marry off his daughter to a strong wrestler & seeing that Dileep doesn't fit the bill, Kochukuttan Pillai challenges Dileep to wrestle a person he nominates as an opponent & summons his friend & famous wrestler Dara Singh, for this task.

The story begins with Anandan, who makes a maiden trip to his native village, Sivapuram. His purpose? To make good his promise to his recently deceased mother that he would dissolve her ashes in a river near Manthrikapura, a mystical garden, and light a lamp in Sivakavu, a strange and dark place in Sivapuram. However, as soon as he lands in Sivapuram, Anandan finds out that what he heard and what he sees are two different things.

With the aim of pleasing his dearest friend, a heart patient, & giving him a memorable vacation before he returned back to America, Kaimal (Nedumudi) recruits a thief Vishnu (Mohanlal), to act as the husband of his dearest friend's daughter Kalyani (Renjini), after Kalyani was snubbed by her lover Ravi (Shanawas) on the day of their wedding. After some initial spats, Vishnu & Kalyani gets attracted to each other, but soon Kalyani learns that Vishnu has a tragic past & an even more tragic future.

Two young men - Balagopalan aka Balu (Jayaram) & Jayakumar (Jagathi) - frustrated after many failed attempts at starting a business, starts a concierge service called "We Help", with the help of a benevolent lawyer Madhavan Thampi. Balu gets close to a heiress Indu (Parvathi), who is found murdered soon after, with the blame falling on Balu & Jayakumar, who happened to be at the scene of the crime. They set out to prove their innocence & to find Indu's killer, with the help of Madhavan Thampi.

The plot is set in the 1940's in a village of Travancore, British India. Kaliyappan, the last hangman of Travancore dynasty is dragging his remaining life by consuming alcohol and worshipping the Mother Goddess. Vasundhara Menon (Srividya), a retired judge, had always ruled over everyone, including her family. So when her son Balakrishnan aka Balan (Mohanlal) falls in love with his office amanuensis Geetha (Shobana), Vasundhara fights tooth & nail to break the relationship & to get him married to someone she chose. When Balan threatened to leave home, Vasundhara relents & agrees, but after the marriage, she teams up with her daughter Sulochana (Sumithra) to wreck Balan & Geetha's married life.

Three friends - Zachariah (Mammootty), Gopi (Nedumudi Venu) & Hilal (Asokan) - decide to celebrate Vishu (Malayalam New Year) at a village brothel run by Maaluvamma (Sukumari). As they were having fun there, they learned that Gaurikutty, the newest addition to the place was forcibly brought there & two communal leaders - Mooppan (Kunjandi) & Panicker - are fighting over her. Hilal, seeing the plight of the girl, falls in love with her & the 3 friends decide to rescue Gaurikutty from the brothel.

Peethambaran (Sreenivasan) is a do-gooder who is always running around to solve the problems of fellow villagers, but inadvertently neglecting the matters of his own mother & younger sisters. Soon, a few incidents - failing in the village Panchayat election & his friend Sugunan (Vijayaraghavan) cheating him, makes him realize that people whom he helped are not very grateful in return.

Vettikkaadu Sivan (Jayasurya), kidnaps his uncle Vettikkaadu Sadhasivan (Jagathi), a contender for the Chief Minister post & plants Sadhasivan's long lost twin brother & banana vendor Vettikkaadu Sambhasivan (Jagathi), whom Sivan found in Gujarat, in his place. Sambhasivan wins the election, but has no interest to rule & pines for his long lost love Ammu. Sambhasivan's stupidities create problems for Sivan.

Govindankutty (Mohanlal) grew up hearing people call him a bastard & nursed intense hate towards his father, a Tamilian who forsook his mother Gauri (Bharathi) when she was pregnant & carried a knife with him to kill his father, should he ever find him. Anantha Subramaniam (Shivaji Ganesan) arrives in the village as the new contractor who leased the village's sand quarry. Govindankutty seeks a job with Subramaniam, without knowing that Subramaniam is his father he had been seeking all his life.

Syed Ahmed (Mohanlal), son of Lebba Sahib (Nedumudi) & mute Nabisa (Sukumari) is a revolutionary whose forward thinking brings the ire of religious Islamic leaders. They frame Syed in a bombing conspiracy which kills hundreds, after which Syed is sentenced to death. Nabisa loses her sanity & goes on an aimless search for her son. This brings her to a temple where she seeks refuge & food, but when the temple officials find out about her being a Muslim, they kick her out.

Ramachandran (Mohanlal) joins T. K. P. Memorial College as an English lecturer only to find that the college is in a sad state of affairs - politics, anarchy & drugs prevailed, with everything run by a gang of students, lead by Renji Mathews (Ganesh Kumar), son of MP Mathews (Prathapachandran). Ramachandran opposes their reign & faces a lot of troubles along the way.

19-year old Kannan (Sangeeth), who lives with his family in Trivandrum, comes with his mother (Srividya) to their ancestral home of Koyikkal, during a vacation, where all of their family planned to have a get-together. There, he reunites with his cousin & childhood playmate, 16-year old Radhika (Sonia), who had come to dance at the family temple & who was all set to go to USA to join her family. Kannan falls in love with Radhika & tries to woo her, with not so good side-effects.

Industrialist & owner of Raja Varma College in Bangalore, Prathapa Varma's (Thilakan) grandson Manu Varma (Sanjay Mitra) comes to study there. In Bangalore, he meets Anamika aka Anu, sister of Seychelles based hotelier Chandran (Sarathbabu). After some initial tiffs, Manu & Anu fall in love, but Chandran opposes their relationship since he had a bitter experience with his another sister Leena (Rekha) walking out on him. Chandran takes away Anu to Seychelles & Manu follows suit to get Anu back.

Major Nair (Nedumudi), an old man, who leads a respectable life as a husband & father, flirts with younger women. He befriends 3 college students & romeos - Bhaktavalsalan (Sreenivasan), Gopan (Mukesh), Kora (Jagadish) - who are also out for love. When they choose Nair's daughter Meenu (Lizy) as their target, Nair opposes. All 3 get into Nair's house posing as a Hindi tutor, houseboy & Nair's wrestler brother-in-law's disciple respectively. Nair comes up with crooked plans to throw them out.

Sethumadhavan (Mohanlal), a struggling middle-class man, tries to start a biscuit factory - 'Dakshayani Biscuits', with his hopes constantly thwarted by corrupt government officials demanding bribes to approve his papers. Having a huge joint family to support, he doesn't confide about his troubles to anyone, including his wife Sulochana (Urvashi), who constantly accuses him of not giving her enough attention. Things continue to worsen till Sethumadhavan tells Sulochana that they should separate.

Father Daniel (Captain Raju), the newly appointed junior priest of the town church, tries to unite the warring Hindus and Christians, with the Christians led by Kariyachan (K.P.A.C. Sunny) & Mathayichan (Rajan P. Dev) & the Hindus led by Raman Nair (Kollam Thulasi). He forms a music troupe, 'Rhythm Orchestra', along with lovers Roy (Vikram) & Hema (Laila), & also tries to unite them. Fr. Daniel faces stiff opposition from various quarters.

Sethu (Sukumaran) & Unni (Nedumudi) are co-workers & best pals who did everything together & shared everything. When Radha (Poornima Jayaram), Unni's acquaintance from his village, comes to Madras for a new job, both men get attracted to her. They start to woo her & in the process, end up fighting with each other. Each now starts trying to get Radha's attention in their own way. They also have to shield her from their skirt chaser boss, V. Narayan Das (Sankaradi), the GM of Southern Industries.

Thirumuttathu Kochuthomman (Thilakan) & his youngest son Roy (Jayaram), were more of friends than father & son. Roy whiles away his life pursuing his passion of drama, incurring the wrath of the family, except that of Kochuthomman, who supported him secretly. On the eve of Jyothi's marriage, the groom's family learns of this, leading to the wedding getting called off. Unable to bear the news, Jyothi's father (Nedumudi) gets hospitalized & he gets Jyothi forcibly married to Ram. An angry Jyothi, who assumes that Ram cheated her into this, gives Ram a cold shoulder, after their marriage.

Fed up with his restricted life, Kunjoottan (Sreenivasan), a village simple, runs away to the city with his friend Ramachandran (Jayaram), after stealing money from his father. After their money gets stolen, the cash-stricken duo kidnaps a rich girl Asha (Suparna), & asks her father M.R.C. (Thilakan) for ransom. When they learn that M.R.C isn't Asha's real father & that he is only after her wealth & he wants her dead, Kunjoottan & Ramachandran decide to protect the girl till her 18th birthday.

Machu (Mammootty), an illiterate street urchin turned millionaire scrap-dealer, falls for the sweet talk of con man Andrews Pereira (Nedumudi) & hands over all his money to him to invest, which Andrews transfers into his daughter Diana's (Navneet Kaur) name & escapes with her to Singapore after also duping Machu into thinking that Andrews was going to let Machu marry Diana. Peeved at having cheated out of his life savings, Machu follows suit to Singapore, to get back the money & the girl.

International don Sagar alias Jacky (Mohanlal), comes to the rescue of his friend & Kerala Chief Minister's (Nedumudi Venu) daughter Indu (Shobana), after Goa-based gangsters Rosario brothers kidnap her squanderer husband Manu (Manoj K. Jayan), who was deep in debt to the Rosario brothers. Jacky forcibly frees Manu, sparking off a gang war with the coterie of Rosario (Sampath Raj) & Dubai-based Naina (Suman).

Jayarajan (Mohanlal), the Asst. Manager, Chandran (Rahman), the accountant & Johnny (Nedumudi), the driver, plan to rob from their company 'Thenmallay Plantations'. When Manager A.K. Menon (Janardanan) foils their plan, Jayarajan murders Menon. From then on, Jayarajan picks off one by one, everyone in his path to the top - usurping the company itself. Chandran & Johnny, horrified & repentant, keeps mum, out of fear for Jayarajan, while cop Ravi (Ratheesh) suspects Jayarajan & gets on his tail.

Rameshan Nair (Mammootty), the village improver, tries to reform thug Karakkoottil Dasan (Sreenivasan) & get him married. But when he recognizes the bride-to-be Rajani (Kanaka), as a girl whom he had once gotten nabbed for immoral trafficking, he blocks the marriage & later, also a job which Rajani took up. Although, initially hated by everyone including the maid Gloria (Philomina), Charlie slowly gains everyone's trust & love.

Two struggling young men, Sivashankaran (Mohanlal), a medical representative & Abu (Murali), a taxi driver, overhears a discussion about a smuggling deal, which they inform the customs, after which the deal is busted & 1 crore worth of gold is confiscated. Sivashankaran & Abu get 20 lakh rupees as a reward, but when the smuggling gang, led by Xavier Jacob (Nasser), learns about Sivashankaran, he is forced to go on the run with the money, out of fear for his life.

Looking to get a job as a driver in Dubai, Appu dumps his blacksmithing trade & learns driving. One night, he witnesses 3 people trying to dispose of the corpse of a dancer, Sugandhi, & reports it to Gopan. Sugandhi's killers turn out to be Gopan's friends, so Gopan frames Appu for it & gets him jailed. Appu escapes from jail to vindicate himself.

Kerala Home Minister Thomas Chacko (Jagathi), in order to turn public attention away from the sex scandal brought upon him by Thankamma Rajan (Sona Nair), to stop him & his coterie from quarrying the mineral-rich sands of the Maarankara beach, plans a plane crash on the houses of Maarankara. When Thomas Chacko targets journalist Anuradha (Mamtha Mohandas) & her husband, lawyer Nandan Menon (Dileep), who stumbled upon Chacko's plan, a common man, Sathyanathan (Sreenivasan), comes to their rescue.

After magnate & owner of 'Sun Marines', M.K. Nair (Nedumudi), is found shot dead, his son Anand (Suresh Gopi) returns from London to manage his firm. After he exposes illegal dealings within the firm, Anand finds himself deprived of his assets by manager Prathap Menon (Sadiq), auditor Vamadevan Karunan (Narendra Prasad) & M.K. Nair's godson, K.R. Badran (Murali). Anand teams up with a con Akbar (Vijayaraghavan) & a group of youngsters, to reclaim his wealth & to get back at his father's killers.

Ananthan Thampi, an aspirant bodybuilder sworn to celibacy, gets trapped in a marriage with Ganga (Meena), after he thinks the marriage is just a drama & believes his cohorts Rajappan (Jagadish) & Varadappan's (Premkumar) words that Ganga was really in love with Aravindan (Vijayakumar) & that Thampi would just be keeping Ganga safe till Aravindan returns. However, when he learns that there was nothing between Ganga & Aravindan, he tries to get rid of Ganga, causing chaos in his family & Ganga's.

Teshildar Priyadarsini (Nandini) refuses to give up her office to newly appointed Teshildar Ramakrishnan (Sreenivasan) & gets Sagar Kottappuram (Mohanlal), Ramakrishnan's pal & famous novelist, arrested for mistakenly entering her house. Sagar gets Priyadarsini suspended & Ramakrishnan assumes office, but in revenge, Priyadarsini frames them both for rape. Abased & angry, Sagar starts a sensational serial novel called 'Oru Gazetted Yakshi' in 'Manjadi' magazine, to sully Priyadarsini's repute.

Kuttikrishnan (Shankar), the only son of martinet single mother Amminiyamma (K.P.A.C. Lalitha), gets attracted to Devayani (Menaka), daughter of poor lineman Pappan (Thilakan). Amminiyamma agrees to the marriage on condition that Devayani's family give 35 sovereigns in gold as dowry. As per Kuttikrishnan's grandfather's (Nedumudi) advice, Pappan & family borrows the gold & conducts the wedding. However, plans for returning the gold is foiled when Amminiyamma puts the gold under lock & key.

Justice T. Vasudev (Babu Nampoothiri) & businessman Kuwait Mani (M.G. Soman), both pals, gets killed back-to-back & in each case, a piece of coconut husk is found shoved in their mouths. DSP Haridas Damodaran (Mammootty) investigates the case & finds that a friend of theirs, Rosario Fernandes (Devan), was killed the same way 2.5 years ago in Bombay. Haridas's suspicion falls on Rosario's mentally ill son, Christie (Suresh Gopi), who had recently absconded from the asylum he was being treated in.

Millionaire Achuthan Nair (Thilakan) of the Manikyamangalam family, shocks his greedy relatives waiting for his demise, when he reveals that he has an illicit daughter, Shoba, from an old affair. His relatives hire an imposter, Balagopalan (Mukesh), to pose as Shoba's husband & tell Nair that Shoba is dead, thus ending Nair's wait for his daughter. Prabhakara Menon (Nedumudi), Nair's pal, on the other hand, tries to prevent Balagopalan from saying this, fearing for Nair's fragile health.

Vinayachandran (Mohanlal), who joins the prestigious Preference School as a Malayalam teacher, approaches teaching with his unorthodox ways & prompts the students to be free thinkers, inviting the ire of the school management. On a personal level, his harmonious relationship with his wife Sindu (Samyuktha Varma) is threatened after Sindu's younger sister Bala (Geethu Mohandas) comes for a vacation & tries to copy Sindu's mannerisms & makes overtures towards Vinayachandran, in Sindu's absence.

Palackal Benny Chacko (Jayaram), a Cable TV business owner, marries Daisy (Kanika), with plans of using the promised 5 lakhs dowry to buy a fishing boat & better his financial situation. When Daisy's father Anto's (Venu Nagavalli) plans for raising the dowry doesn't work out in time, an angry Benny drops Daisy off back at her house. The twist of fate happens in the form of a 2 crore lottery win for Daisy, after which an embarrassed Benny must now win back Daisy's heart again, to have her back.

Ravi Varma Thampuran (Mammootty), a colonel in the Indian Army base in Coonoor, in the middle of a divorce with Swathi (Pooja Batra), takes a break to the countryside of Chandragiri, the native place of his orderly Mani (Dileep). There, he falls in love with village girl Meenakshi (Priya Gill), but his hopes are shattered when he learns that Meenakshi is Mani's cousin & girlfriend. A jealous Ravi returns to Coonoor & schemes to get Mani out of the way, so that he could get Meenakshi for himself.

Sivan (Suresh Gopi), a wayside cobbler & odd-job man, saves a girl Kanakam (Sindhu Menon) from goon Gauri (Sreejith Ravi) & Gauri gets time for the murder of an accomplice, which happens in the process. Sivan marries Kanakam, but she dies at childbirth & their daughter Meenakshi becomes everything to Sivan. Things get complicated when Sivan is diagnosed with a terminal illness & Gauri gets out on bail & threatens to take Meenakshi away, making Sivan scared for Meenakshi's future after his death.

Pavithran Nair aka Pavi (Mohanlal), a struggling road contractor & the black sheep of his family, is dwarfed by the success of his corrupt contractor brother & engineer brother-in-law. The new Municipal Commissioner turns out to be his ex-flame Radha (Shobana), from whom he had bitterly split in college. Pavi's small time duperies in the road work doesn't bode well with Radha, who forbids Pavi from any future work. Enraged, Pavi gets Radha framed for corruption. An abased Radha attempts suicide.

Aspiring singer Nandan (Shankar) falls in love with Devi (Urvashi), with the blessings of their respective mothers, but Devi's father rebuffs him, causing them to plan to wed secretly. Nandan's friend, unruly Sunny (Mohanlal), Sunny's trusty sidekick Vinod (Jagathi) & Sunny's girlfriend Thara (Geetha) offer support & guidance, but their plans are foiled when tragedy strikes in the form of Sunny's accidental death. After Sunny's death, Sunny's friends & family tries to cope with Sunny's loss.

In Kuttanad, Alackal Govindan (Nedumudi Venu) has spent his whole life obsessing over snake boat racing, which had caused him to be heavily in debt, frustrating his son Chandran (Kunchako Boban), who had to support his outlays. When upstart Dubai Jose (Riyaz Khan) offers to sponsor that year's boat race, in return for being captain of the team, it comes as a heavy blow to Govindan. But soon after, Chandran exposes Jose's polygamy, causing Jose to be ousted & vengeful & Govindan reinstated.

Mohanakrishnan, a Brahmin carpenter & son of a famous father, C. K. Nampoothiri, who had committed suicide, gets sent to Rama Varma Thampuran (Gopi) for a job & to learn music. He gets appointed as the junior priest of Rama Varma's family temple, & falls in love with Satyabhama (Bhama), a struggling school girl whose cousin Surendran had his roving eye on her. In a sticky situation, they had to elope, but Surendran doesn't let go & kidnaps Mohanakrishnan's sister & demands Satyabhama in return.

Josekutty (Murali) who ran a vegetable wholesale business in Palani, brings over his wife Teresa (Urvashi) & kids for the Christmas vacation. There, Teresa starts suspecting an affair between Josekutty & the bubbly girl next door, Kaveri (Sunitha), fueled by Kaveri's step-mother Padmini's (Ragini) gossip, with disastrous results.

Rajiv Menon (Mohanlal), wastrel multi-millionaire & owner of Ratnagiri Plantations, gets obsessed with the idea of having a baby, but without the commitment of a marriage. Annie (Rekha) agrees to be a surrogate mother & bear Rajiv's kid via artificial insemination, in return for financial help to cure her bedridden husband Chandradas (Murali). However, after delivery, Annie becomes attached to the child & refuses to part with him.

Tragedy befalls the vacationing family of US-based Unni (Jayaram) & wife Raji (Urvashi), when their daughter Malooty (Shamili) falls into a deep mining hole while playing & gets trapped in it.

An honest lawyer, Sethumadhavan (Mammootty), faces trials & tribulations when he takes up the role of a prosecuting attorney in the murder case of a laborer, Johnny (Lalu Alex), who was killed by Sethumadhavan's brother-in-law Raghuvaran (Sreenath), for fomenting a strike in United Mills, a business concern run by his wife Anu's (Shobana) family.

A 4 year old girl, Deepa (Geethu Mohandas), strikes up a relationship with a stranger, whom she came to call 'Telephone Uncle', over phone conversations. Initially apprehensive of the relationship, Deepa's widow mom Aleena (Asha Jayaram), also grows fond of the stranger, who soon becomes an integral part of their lives, even without meeting in real life. However, unbeknown to them, the stranger carried a dark secret.

Appunni and Ammu are destined to be married, however, when a better man comes along, Ammu's father dumps Appunni for Menonmash.

Kuttan Pillai (Innocent), to get his son Vidyadharan (Manian Pillai Raju) married to wealthy Adithya Varma's (Prem Nazir) daughter Kaveri (Menaka), tries to block her planned wedding with Balu (Shankar), brother of Varma's next-door neighbor Sasidharan (Nedumudi Venu). The fragile household of Annie (Madhavi), a music teacher, is shattered when she is diagnosed with Leukemia & subsequently her recovering alcoholic husband Johny (Murali) is stabbed to death in a skirmish. Faced with uncertainty regarding her 4 young kids, Annie is forced to give them up for adoption.

Richard aka Richie (Mohanlal), a rich prodigal playboy, spends his life drinking & chasing women. But things get out of hand when he rapes Ashwathy (Urvashi), & her heartbroken simpleton husband Kumara Varma (Nedumudi Venu) commits suicide. Feeling guilty, Richie decides to turn over a new leaf by marrying Sofia (Lizy), but his past doesn't let go.

Unnikannan Nair (Nedumudi Venu), Panchayath president of the remote village of Pokkanamkodu, after getting cornered on his failure to bring a vet to the village, by the opposition party of the Panchayath headed by Ulpalakshan (Pappu), asks his aide Kurup (Paravoor Bharathan) to get one. At Kurup's behest, Bhairavan (Innocent), a conman, comes to the village posing as vet 'Pasupathy'. Nair doesn't let go, & tries to ruin Ravi by targeting his family & business through cohorts Krishan Narayan Bhatta (Nirmal Pandey) & liquor baron Victor Sebastian (Cochin Hanifa).

However, it turned out that Yama (Thilakan), the Lord of death, took Pappan's life mistaking him for someone else & that he had a week more to live. Yama gives Pappan different freshly-dead bodies to try on till then & finally Pappan settles for Devadas (Mohanlal), a cop killed in action. Now, as Devadas, Pappan has to prove his death & bring Umesh to justice.

Chandy (Mammootty), a good-at-heart roughneck, comes to the village of Maravathoor to help out his struggling farmer brother Michael (Biju Menon) with his crops. There, with his bluster & courage, he tames local bullies & finds a place in landlord Annie's (Divya Unni) heart. However, Palani Swamy Gounder (Nedumudi Venu), a disgruntled local bigwig who had an eye on Michael's land, spreads rumors about Chandy & Michael's wife Mary (Mohini), which sows seeds of doubt in Michael's & Annie's minds.

When Kumaran (Dileep), a barber by trade who grew up as a bastard, finally learns that he is the illicit son of Kerala Chief Minister M.K.S. Warrier (Nedumudi Venu), he procures a job as a gardener at the minister's residence, to be close to his father, after Warrier expressed reluctance in publicly accepting him. There, after some initial spats, Solomon is drawn close to the sisters' home nurse Sophia (Navya Nair). Girly Mathew (Nadia Moidu), an effervescent girl from Delhi, comes to the town of Karamalloor to reunite with her grandmother, Kunjoonjamma (Padmini). Kunjoonjamma, living a secluded life, angry at Girly's father Mathews (K.P. Ummer) for having taken away her daughter Manikutty & her granddaughter, & blamed him for her daughter's death, refused to accept Girly at first, but Girly wins her over, & they soon become inseparable.

Raghavan Thampi (Thilakan) & wife Subadra (Sukumari) force their eldest son, mridangam artist Prabhakaran (Nedumudi Venu), to marry, with the result that he started fighting with his wife Shailaja (Geetha) all the time. Meanwhile, his younger brother Pradeepan (Jayaram) marries Roshni (Urvashi) after lying about him being an orphan. After Roshni ends up being a tenant in the upper level of his own house, Pradeepan now has to play a cat & mouse game to keep both his identities.

After his wife Indu died, well-off bank officer Vishwanathan (Jayaram) marries Meera (Jyothirmayi), who started considering Vishwanathan's son Vasu (Kalidasan) as her own. However, when Meera bears a son of her own, Appu, 9-year old Vasu feels his parents' love for him was eroding & in a fit of rage, he ends up killing Appu by mistake. SI Chandran (Shammi Thilakan), a tough inflexible cop, corners Vasu & brings the law on him. Although Vishwanathan & Meera forgives Vasu, the law doesn't let go.

Padmanabhan (Nedumudi Venu) & Devaki (K.P.A.C. Lalitha), gets back their long-lost son Unni (Dileep) after 17 years, but is saddened to find that he was mentally ill. Unni's childhood friend Ammu (Kavya Madhavan) nurses Unni & agrees to marry him, but the decision upsets Gopikuttan (Nishanth Sagar), Ammu's cousin who wanted to marry her. Meanwhile, an accident brings back Unni's memory, & he reveals that he is actually Vishnu, son of criminal Maheswaran Thampi (B. Thyagarajan), from Bangalore.

Indira (Geetha), a radical who was on life sentence for killing a rich evil landlord Avarachan (Prathapachandran), gets out on parole but faces ridicule, exploitation & anger from her estranged family & villagers. She seeks refuge & companionship with a struggling journalist Rasheed (Mohanlal), who, with the help of his friend, elderly journalist Raman (Thilakan), tries to get her sentence commuted.

Krishnakumar aka Kichu (Prithviraj), a freshman, is brutally assaulted by his senior Sudhi (Bala), the youngest brother of the notorious Karimbanakattil brothers & his gang, after Sudhi takes offence to Kichu hanging out with Anjana Sivaraman (Priyamani), whom Sudhi had an eye on & whom Anjana's parents had agreed to marry off to Sudhi after college. The beating takes a severe toll on Kichu, more mentally than physically, & he returns to college a changed man, with a ferocious disposition.

Achuthankutty Nair (Nedumudi Venu), an edgy, overprotective man, lived with a tight grip on his wife Rugmini (Rohini Hattangadi) & daughters Ashwathy (Rohini) & Karthika & oft picked fights with the tenants of the neighboring men's hostel, with their leader Vipin (Balachandra Menon) being Achuthankutty's prime adversary. After Achuthankutty suddenly dies of a heart attack, however, Rugmini & her daughters are deserted by family & friends, & Vipin turns out to be the only one they could count on.

Dr. Balasubramaniam (Mohanlal), after his wife Rukmini's (Urvashi) death, devotes his life for raising son Raju Vishwam (Anu Anand), disregarding even his best friend Mani Sankar Iyer's (Nedumudi Venu) sister & coworker Sreelakshmi's (Parvathi) feelings towards him. When Raju goes to college, Balasubramaniam rejoices, but his joys are cut short when Raju dies in a hazing incident in college at the hands of his seniors. The law lets the culprits go free, but Balasubramaniam doesn't forgive them.

When a celebrity writer, Palazhi Shivashankara Pillai (Nedumudi Venu), lies on his death bed, a horde of reporters swoop down on his ancestral home, including struggling reporter & Palazhi's protégé Unni Madhavan (Dileep), to get first dibs on the news of his death. However, Palazhi stays ill, but alive, frustrating the reporters whose wait starts extending into days. Meanwhile, on a personal front, Unni's pregnant wife Vimala (Gopika), who seldom got to see him, pines for his love & affection.

Sudhakaran Nair (Mammootty), an ex-serviceman with a slight gimp & who was in his late 30s, & a young girl in her late teens from the affluent Mullackal family, Indu (Kaveri), fall in love with each other, but faces stiff opposition from their families, because of the disparities between their ages & social ranks.

Hari (Vineeth) travels to Varanasi after his M.Phil. to do research in North Indian folk arts, where circumstances force him to shelter a girl Amritha (Kavya Madhavan) from evil gangster Kishanchand (Suresh Krishna). Kishanchand catches up with them, brutally assaults Hari & takes Amritha away. Hari returns to Kerala, but has to spurn his childhood cousin/lover Devu (Navya Nair) as he had slept with Amritha. A devastated Devu commits suicide & Hari returns to Varanasi & seeks solace in drugs.

Problem teen Pradeep Menon (Harish), whose father had died when he was young & who hated the very sight of his mom, after a string of initial spats with the new girl in school, Daisy Thomas (Sonia), falls in love with her. Just as he found a new meaning in life, tragedy strikes when Daisy is diagnosed with brain tumor. With her time running out, Daisy asks Pradeep for 3 wishes, which he sets out to fulfill.

Driven to desperation by unemployment, ridicule & rebuke from all quarters & miserable at having to depend on his headmaster father Gopi (Murali) to feed his wife Indu (Divya Unni), Satheeshan (Jayaram) starts getting the extreme idea of killing his own father to get his job, using the provision that a government employee's job will be given to his child or spouse in the event of his death, while in service.

Ravi Varma (Kunchako Boban), in desperate need to raise 15 lakhs to get his father Prabhakara Varma (Nedumudi Venu) out of a swindling case for which he was currently jailed, meets master conman Jerry Mathew (Jayasurya) & the two hatch a scheme to defraud NRI millionaire Emir Harish Rahman (Devan) by selling him a fake painting, supposedly painted by renowned painter Raja Ravi Varma. In the process, Jerry & Ravi starts outdoing & double-crossing each other to get the proceeds for oneself.

Madhavankutty (Jayaram), an Ayurvedic doctor on the death row, accused of two murders he didn't commit, escapes from jail, with the help of jail superintendent Mathew Stephen's (Nedumudi Venu) daughter Emi (Mathu), to prove his innocence. He ends up in a forest area where he is given refuge by Velu Asan (Thilakan), an elderly man, who had mistakenly shot Madhavankutty. Hot on Madhavankutty's trail was cop Nandakumar (Siddique), Madhavankutty's ex-flame Shobha Menon's (Gautami) husband.

Balakrishnan (Sreenivasan), a village school teacher, & the new music teacher Nirmala (Samyuktha Varma), the object of his affection, gets involved in a mess when they get stuck in a resort in town & has to help a damsel in distress, Rita, from the goons of Delhi Pappachan (Nedumudi Venu). Rita gets in an accident for which they get blamed & Balakrishnan gets jailed, betrayed by Nirmala. 2 years later, Balakrishnan befriends a kind man, Nandakumar (Mukesh), whose fiancée turns out to be Nirmala.

Narayanankutty (Jayaram), an invalid, gets a prosthetic leg & a livelihood in the form of a small store, donated by a charity. He also falls in love with Sridevi (Charmila), a school teacher, & just when life was looking good for him, he gets accused of the murder of Sridevi's coworker Hema (Shyama) who was found dead in the village lake & his life is devastated as a result.

Struggling artist Satyanathan (Mohanlal) is forced to protect a young woman, Jaya (Mathu), & her two teenage sisters after Jaya's prostitute aunts try to force Jaya also into prostitution. His efforts go to waste however, when Jaya's employer Vijayan (Mahesh) cheats Jaya by impregnating her & leaving her. Forced to abort the pregnancy & without a job, Jaya takes to prostitution. As Jaya's aunts & their pimp Chandran's (Augustine) gazes turn towards Jaya's sisters, Satyanathan is forced to react.

Sage Naradan (Nedumudi Venu), tired of Lord Indra's (C.I. Paul) dictatorship, advocates for socialism in heaven & goes to Kerala, in his opinion the ideal land, to learn politics. However, in Kerala, he gets trapped in various sticky situations, including being a murder suspect, which makes him realize that heaven was in fact way better.

Young wanderer poet & novelist Sabari (Jayaram), while staying at the government guest house working on his latest novel, meets & falls in love with Devi (Shobana), daughter of judge Rajasekharan Nair, who was in town to investigate corruption accusations against minister Ongalloor Sadasivan (K.P. Ummer). However Sabari's hopes are shattered when he learns that Devi is mute.

Javed Ibrahim (Vinu Mohan), a Muslim terrorist, assumes a Hindu name, Sandeep Subramaniam, & comes to Kala Niketan, an arts school run by Padmanabhan Embranthiri (Nedumudi Venu). His aim - to kill the VIPs attending Keralotsavam, the arts festival organized by Embranthiri, by exploding a bomb during the festivities. However, seeing the love & affection of Embranthiri & his daughter Ganga (Vishnupriya), Javed started having doubts about his mission & finally, a change of mind.

In this threequel to 'In Harihar Nagar', Thomaskutty (Asokan) buys a supposedly haunted mansion from an old lady, Dorothy Fernandes, with the intention of starting a tourist resort there. However, in order to convince the townsfolk that the mansion wasn't really haunted, Thomaskutty requests his old friends Mahadevan (Mukesh), Govindankutty (Siddique) & Appukkuttan (Jagadish) to stay there with him for a week. However, soon they realize that there were evil forces at work in the mansion.

4 waste disposal workers working for the 'Kudumbasree' organization, Girija (Revathy), Shantha (K.P.A.C. Lalitha), Suhara (Shweta Menon) & Raji (Vishnupriya), find 30 lakhs of 'Hawala' money in a dumpster, which they deposit with usurer Unnithan (Nedumudi Venu), & which they later learn to be from murdered Hawala courier Ashraf. CI Antony (Lal) suspects them of pocketing the money & gets hot on their tail, while Unnithan, learning that the money was illicit, tries to keep it for himself.

Cash strapped Sivankutty (Jayasurya) comes to the village of Kunnathoor to entrap the Panchayat President Sreedharan Nair's (Nedumudi Venu) daughter in love, so that Sreedharan Nair's warring brother Raman Nair (Jagathi Sreekumar) could marry his own daughter off to their sister's son. However, the tables are turned when Sivankutty mistakenly identifies & targets Raman Nair's daughter Sreedevi (Radhika), instead of Sreedharan Nair's daughter Priya (Ramya Nambeeshan).

Manu Varma (Bala), neck deep in debt in Dubai, pins his hopes on his estranged late-father Varma (Saikumar) to leave him some money, only to find to his dismay that Varma had left everything to a brother Manu never knew he had, Alexander. Kasinathan (Mohanlal), running a successful Ayurvedic resort with friends in politics & the police, returns to his native village of Midhilapuri after his altruist elder brother Swaminathan (Nedumudi Venu) is killed in an 'accident' fabricated by Kasinathan's old foe, ex-minister Shankar Das (Saikumar) & businessman Dasappa Gounder (Manoj K. Jayan), when Swaminathan opposed their plans to modernize Midhilapuri.

Hotshot lawyers Harikrishnan aka 'Hare' (Mammootty) & Harikrishnan aka 'Krishnan' (Mohanlal), at the behest of Hare's sister Ammalu (Shamili), takes up the case of defending a mute & deaf man, Gabriel (V.K. Sriraman), who was accused of killing a young college professor & poet Guptan (Rajiv Menon). However, when they meet Meera (Juhi Chawla), whom they first suspected to be Guptan's girlfriend, but who later turned out to be just a friend to Guptan, they also start competing to win her heart.

Jayanthi (Ambika), after being impregnated & dumped by her lover & serial womanizer, Babu (Mohanlal), just days before their wedding, pieces her life back together in another place & finds love in the form of her short-tempered but sympathetic boss Lambodharan Nair (Balachandra Menon). However, her new-found life is threatened when she runs across Babu again, & Babu wants to have his way again with her, threatening to spill the beans about her past to Lambodharan if she didn't comply.

Krishnamurthy (Mohanlal), a Brahmin youth, lands a job with the Calcutta Construction company to evacuate the impoverished, but troublesome residents of the infamous 'Vietnam Colony'. Krishnamurthy devises a scheme to evacuate them, but later when he learns that he was duped by the company, he takes the side of the colony residents.

Gopinathan (Gopi), employed in the respectable government job of a Tehsildar, after getting constantly nagged by his wife Padmavathi (Madhavi) for a life of more luxury & dazzled by his foreign-return friends' flashy & opulent lifestyles, desires to make it to the Middle East himself & based on mixed advice from friends, tries to learn various vocations, including typing & tailoring, with disastrous results.

In the pre-independence Brahmin community in rural Kerala, Unni Maya (Mohini), a 17 year old is married off to a 64 year old man, who dies soon after, leaving her to lead a life of confinement & ostracism. She gets a ray of hope in the form of Madhavan (Vineeth), a Kathakali artiste, who woos her, but later refuses to accept her out of fear for being banished from the community himself, after she becomes pregnant from their relationship. A trial involving the community elders gets underway.

Neighbors & childhood friends Appukuttan (Benny) & Thanka (Soorya) grow up together falling in love. However, they face stiff opposition from Appukuttan's family on account of Thanka's family being poor. Forced to leave Appukuttan, Thanka decamps with local moonshiner Velu (Nedumudi Venu), who had an eye on Thanka, but whom she hated, to a far off place. However, Appukuttan & Thanka continues to pine for each other.

Dr. James Varghese (Balachandra Menon), in spite of being London-educated & having his own hospital, goes to a remote village to join the village's only hospital, run by Dr. Devan (Sukumaran) & his father (Thilakan). Unable to cope with the inhumanities in the hospital, Dr. James leaves them & starts his own clinic, with support from the villagers. After their hospital starts losing business to Dr. James, Dr. Devan plans to eliminate Dr. James.

Unni Kesavan (Saiju Kurup), a Brahmin youth frustrated with not being able to obtain a job because of his caste, turns rebellious & takes to drugs, bad company & hooliganism. Indira (Mamtha Mohandas), Unni's childhood friend, returns from Australia after a long gap, & seeing Unni's state, sets out to reform him. Unni turns over a new leaf & procures a job, but also falls hard for Indira, not knowing that she was a terminally ill patient & counting her days.

Lathika's (Suhasini) happy life is shattered after she is raped by her best friend Nisha's (Sabitha Anand) brother, widower Arjunan (Mammootty), in a weak moment. After she gets pregnant in the encounter & her arranged marriage to her cousin/boyfriend Sreekumar (Nahas) is called off, she leaves the village with her kid & finds a job in the city, but to her dismay, her new boss turns out to be Arjunan. A now penitent Arjunan offers to marry her, but Lathika angrily spurns all advances.

Manu (Rony Vincent) & Annie (Shantikrishna) were lovers & friends from childhood. However, Annie's friendship with her classmate Ananthu (Venu Nagavalli) doesn't bode well with the overly sensitive & jealous Manu, & Manu starts suspecting Annie's fidelity. This strains their relationship & Manu starts seeing another girl, Lalimol (Anitha), to get back at Annie.

The story of the life & death of Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja (Mammootty), the valiant prince of the royal dynasty of Pazhassi Kottayam, who rebelled against the occupying forces of the British East India Company who imposed heavy taxes on the people.

Naarayanan Unni (Prithviraj), a youth who cannot accept his mixed parentage, a Brahmin father & a low caste mother (Sreekala), leaves home on an identity quest & comes to Kuttanad to trace his mother's roots. There he stays with an amiable, but mentally deranged woman (K.P.A.C. Lalitha) & her young daughter Jayasree (Samvrutha Sunil), where Jayasree fed her family by sleeping with her own uncle (Nedumudi Venu). The experiences that Unni goes through makes him see life in a new light.

With a fake teaching degree, Diwakaran (Mohanlal), who had barely passed the 10th grade, goes to the remote village of Kundankadavu to teach English there at the dilapidated local L.P. (Lower Primary) school. With encouragement from the school cook Sujatha (Menaka), a poor but educated girl, Diwakaran turns over a new leaf & tries to educate himself to be able to teach the students & to reform the school. This pits him against the corrupt & powerful school manager Nambiar (K.P.A.C. Sunny).

Appukuttan (Mukesh) comes to Ooty in search of a job & blackmails businessman Chandran Pillai (C.I. Paul) into getting a job as his driver. When a horoscope mix-up causes astrologer Kizhekkedam (Nedumudi Venu) to predict widowhood for Pillai's daughter Meenu (Manya) in her first marriage & that her second marriage would be long-lived, Pillai finds a way out by getting Meenu married to Appukuttan. Knowing about the mix-up, Appukuttan plays along & usurps Pillai's wealth along with getting Meenu.

Fresh off the success of his award-winning novel, Sethunath (Jayaram) grants an exclusive interview to persistent reporter Aneesa (Sharika Menon), to whom he reveals his inspiration - his long-gone lover Priyanandini (Sada), who came into his life when he was living an unhappy & withdrawn life as an advertising executive, separated from his estranged wife Manju (Shari). Although circumstances does not allow them to unite, Priyanandini inspires Sethunath to write his magnum opus.

Suresh (Saikumar), an educated but unemployed young man, pretends to be a rich boy to romance rich girl Lekha (Chitra), but gets exposed eventually & Lekha's father Nambiar (Prathapachandran) fixes her marriage elsewhere in anger. Suresh's father, caterer Govinda Kurup (Nedumudi Venu), vows to unite the lovers, but his arch rival Adicha Pillai (Innocent) tries to thwart his plans. Meanwhile Nambiar's rotund son Krishnappan woos Pillai's daughter Usha, complicating things further.

Famous poet & novelist Chandradas (Mammootty) comes to Kodaikanal for a sojourn where he meets his long-lost daughter Haritha (Chippy) during a school function. 15 years ago, Chandradas had abandoned Haritha & her mother Anitha (Sasikala) in Calcutta, after an altercation. Chandradas now wants his daughter back & embarks on a legal battle to obtain her, with Haritha now torn between her biological father & her stepfather, Dr. Harikumara Menon (Lalu Alex).

Greedy housewife Shyamala (Urvashi), at war with her elder brother Sekharan (Nedumudi Venu), the Collector living next door, for not recognizing her family, dreams of marrying her son Aakash (Kunchako Boban) off to a rich NRI girl. A freak incident causes Shyamala to be famous, which further leads to her contesting the elections & becoming a minister. Just when things start going well for Shyamala, her dreams are shattered when Aakash chooses to marry his plebeian coworker Nandana (Bhama).

Nandakumar (Mohanlal), a clever cop from the Vigilance & Anti-Corruption bureau, takes on the disguise of a commoner to corner a corrupt, but equally shrewd government official - Assistant Town Planning Officer Gopi Krishnan (Sreenivasan), but gets the tables turned on him. Meanwhile, his personal life gets messed up when his estranged wife Meera (Sameera Reddy), approaches the court for custody of their daughter.

Hemachandran (Hemanth Menon) takes a fancy to next door flirt Shyama (Sreelekha) & for the first time, Shyama falls for real too. However Shyama's grandad Vasudeva Kartha (Nedumudi Venu) warns him about Sathyamurthy, a maniac out to kill Shyama & also about her horoscope which predicted her death or her hubby's in 6 months, if she was ever to marry. Scorning the idea, but wanting to end Shyama's fear, Hemachandran marries Shyama, but moves in alone to a haunted house to disprove the horoscope.

Kaveri (Pramila), who runs a tea stall in a remote village seeks out a new lover in vagabond hunter Maruthu (Nedumudi Venu) to accept the paternity of her illicit pregnancy. Meanwhile, a circus comes to the village & Maruthu finds a job there, after he gets enamored with Sundari (Suchitra), the lead female acrobat of the troupe, irking Kaveri. Maruthu ends up going back to Kaveri & quarrels with the troupe, after which Maruthu plays a prank on the troupe which goes awry, destroying the circus.

In the backward hamlet of Airavatakkuzhi, henpecked Panchayat president Dushasana Kurup (Gopi) & his clique of corrupt Panchayat members look to raise Kurup's fame by attaching his name to a new bridge, even if that meant destroying the current, perfectly functional bridge. Spreading the rumor that the current bridge is weak, they procure the permission to demolish it & a farce of mammoth proportions ensue in the effort for the new bridge, with everybody in the game seeking personal gains.

Louis (Mammootty), an orphan & a roamer, ends up in the village of Manjadikkunnu where he seeks work with struggling single mother Marykutty (Saritha), who was living separated from her abusive husband, Lazar (Janardanan). Forming a bond with Marykutty & her son Kuttan (Master Prasobh), Louis sticks on, much to the chagrin of Lazar & brother Rappayi (Innocent), who stir up the villagers against them. Louis, Marykutty & Kuttan run away & start life anew, but Lazar finds them & takes Kuttan away.

Mathu Pandaram (Mohanlal), a drifter from Ochira, moves into a small hamlet & starts a door-to-door hawking which brings him close to the womenfolk. A serial womanizer, he knocks up his pal & neighbor Narayanan's (Nedumudi Venu) wife Gomathiyamma (Seema). Gomathiyamma confesses to her mistake & Narayanan brings up the child from that affair, Kuttappan, as his own. But Kuttappan (Mohanlal) turns out to be a replica of Pandaram in looks & this causes him humiliation while growing up & as an adult.

A famous character of Kerala folklore, Raman (Thilakan), respectfully called 'Perumthachan' (the master carpenter) was a master carpenter, sculptor & architect. Raman begets a son, Kannan (Prashanth), who later becomes more famous than him, decreasing Raman's importance & causing subtle feelings of animus & one-upmanship between them. When Kannan falls in love with Kunjikkavu (Monisha), daughter of Maambatta Unni (Nedumudi Venu), who was Raman's patron, Raman tries in vain to discourage Kannan.

In a family where traditionally fraternal polyandry was practiced, Kunjipennu (K.P.A.C. Lalitha) tries to get her two sons, Gopalan (Murali) & Unnikrishnan (Manoj K. Jayan) to marry the same girl, but the idea is rejected by her sons. But when Gopalan falls in love & marries Thankamani (Urvashi), Kunjipennu's desire resurfaces again & she tries to hook up Unnikrishnan & Thankamani surreptitiously. Gopalan gets wind of the plan & the resultant fracas tears the family apart.

A circle of close-knit friends' friendship & loyalty is tested by a series of events in their lives - Brahmin girl Veni (Parvathi) falls in love with Tito (Asokan), a Christian, much to the chagrin of Veni's brother Ramaswamy (Jayaram), who dreamt of marrying Veni off into a Brahmin family; Tito's younger sister Fifi (Urvashi) gets pregnant out of wedlock & learns that her boyfriend Saajan (Sreenath) got married elsewhere, & later, Tito himself dies in an accident, leaving everyone broken.

Aattiprackal Jimmy Jacob (Mohanlal), the local youth-wing leader of the Kerala Desham Congress political party & a strongman, gets a foe in the form of new Superintendent of Police, Nayana Pillai (Nagma), who tries to reign in Jimmy's rule in Kottayam. Later, Jimmy is betrayed by his father-figure & party leader K.C. Korah (Saikumar) in a political game, leaving him accused for murder of his would-be bride Sherin's (Navya Nair) father Mathew Varghese (Nedumudi Venu), & wrecking Jimmy's family.

Veena (Bhavna Pani), after hearing that her boyfriend Felix (Mithun Ramesh) had left her to get married to someone else, follows suit to get him back, tagged along by a thief Gopalakrishnan (Dileep), whose recent haul, a precious necklace, had ended up with Veena. Although his initial aim was only to regain the necklace, later Gopalakrishnan promises to reunite Veena & Felix. What follows is a comedy of errors involving a throng of characters who had converged at a hotel for Felix's wedding.

Based on Madhavikutty's novel 'Manomi', with the Sri Lankan Civil War as the backdrop, Tamil poet & radical Thiruchelvam (Suresh Gopi), on the run from the cops, hides out at a house in the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border, where he meets Manomi (Mithra Kurian), a Sinhalese girl who tends to his wounds. Manomi falls in love with Thiruchelvam, but he spurns her love to continue his mission. Years later, Thiruchelvam returns to the place, on the run again, this time determined to meet his mother & Manomi.

Chanthappan (Narendra Prasad) & Chathukkutty (Nedumudi Venu), two lifelong friends, the former a Kalari artist & the latter a singer, are the prominent individuals of the village, each of them having 5 sons each. Into this walks in beautiful Meera (Annie), their new tenant, causing Chanthappan's & Chathukkutty's sons to fall over each other to get her attention. But Meera later claims to be Chathukkutty's lovechild, throwing Chanthappan, Chathukkutty & their sons into confusion.

Pavan (Dileep) & his father Krishnankutty Menon (Nedumudi Venu) were more of friends than father & son, & when Pavan learns of Menon's old flame Sridevi (Jayasudha), with whom Menon had to part ways as a young adult, he teams up with his friend & love interest Anjana (Navya Nair), to unite them. But the idea of an aging Menon marrying doesn't bode well with Anjana's conservative father Gokul Das (Balachandra Menon), & he threatens to separate Pavan & Anjana if Pavan goes through with the plan.

Unnikrishnan (Jayaram) comes to Kuttanad as the new Sub Inspector of Police with an ulterior motive - to bring to justice Memana Madhava Panicker (Karamana), the evil landlord who was responsible for his mother Sarada's (Sabitha Anand) death when he was a young boy. Unnikrishnan finds that the people there were still being oppressed by Panicker & his sons Dineshan (Ramu) & Rameshan (Rizabawa) & he joins hands with the local farmers to organize against Panicker.

Kunjunni (Kalabhavan Mani) is a young man of the Perumannur village who is loved by all. Radha (Meera Nandan), who belonged to a gypsy group, comes to the village to sell statuettes of Lord Krishna. Kunjunni & Radha fall in love, but Radha's father opposes the marriage because Kunjunni was an orphan. Kunjunni later finds out that he actually belongs to a rich family & he had run away from home 20 years back, because his mother Yashoda (Saranya) was too strict & disregarded his musical talents.

Dr. Dinanadhan (Jayaram) had the perfect life - a beautiful wife, Priya (Mamta Mohandas), 2 loving daughters & a successful career. Then he meets John Paily (Manoj K. Jayan), a terminally ill patient, whose wife turns out to be Sofia (Mythili), his ex-girlfriend. Paily dies after a surgery, but he leaves behind a letter requesting Dinanadhan to urge Sofia to start a new life. Dinanadhan & Sofia started talking again, which rekindles their romance, resulting in Sofia giving birth to a baby.

Balakrishnan (Biju Menon), guided by his lawyer pal Lakshminaryanan (Baburaj), routinely enters into flaky ventures with his ancestral money & loses his shirt in the process, with the most current flub causing for him to owe Shankaran Potti (Nedumudi Venu) 3 crores, as part of a land deal. When his uncles decide to transfer the family assets to his name, Balakrishnan finds an actress, Mayamohini (Dileep), to play his wife, to convince his uncles who were under the impression that he got married.

Dharmarajan (Thalaivasal Vijay), a struggling stunt coordinator who gets some work from his old protege, director Adithyan (Anoop Menon), introduces his old pupil Tarzan Antony (Prithviraj Sukumaran) as a stunt man in the movie & Antony captures the fancy of the heroine, Gowri Menon (Yami Gautam), with his daring stunts. This doesn't bode well with the hero of the movie, Premanandh (Srikanth), who walks out of Adithyan's next movie. Adithyan takes up the challenge & casts Antony as the new hero.

In this sequel to 'August - 1...? (1988)', a coterie of crooked businessmen - Selvam (Ranjith), Eepan (Johny) & Narayanan (Chali Pala) - frustrated with the upright Kerala Chief Minister V.G. Venu reluctantly agrees & has a good life with Sarojam till she passes away due to her illness after a few years. Their daughter Ammukutty grows up & is diagnosed with the same illness, causing for Venu to look for a similar groom for her to keep her happy till the end of her days.

K.P. Appu Nair (Nedumudi Venu), an unemployed young man & a habitual liar, takes a fancy to working girl Amminikkutty (Madhavi) & pretends to be an influential hotshot to woo her, but his lies fall apart. At this juncture, Amminikkutty's cousin, Professor Mohandas (Mammootty), shows up with the intention of marrying her, & a frantic Appu resorts to all sorts of trickery to keep them apart - including making Mohandas & Amminikkutty's best friend & roommate Malathi to fall in love with each other.

Prakash (Jayaram), a TV producer & a married man, starts an affair with Krishna (Renjini), the daughter of famous musician Aaditya Varma (Nedumudi Venu). In a quirk of fate, Krishna & Prakash's wife Sumithra (Parvathi) both become pregnant at the same time & Prakash is forced to become a bigamist & juggle the two women.

Uthaman (Jayaram), an orphan, makes a living by doing odd jobs around the local police station & for the cops & their families. After some initial spats, Uthaman strikes a bond with the new Sub Inspector Jayaraj (Siddique) & his mother (Kaviyoor Ponnamma). Jayaraj accidentally kills Alexy (Meghanadhan), a local bigwig who was tyrannizing the village, & Uthaman accepts the responsibility for the crime to save Jayaraj. Alexy's brother Sunny (Babu Antony) arrives in town to avenge Alexy.

As part of a deal between pals Rajagopalan Thampi (Nedumudi Venu) & Subrahmanyam (Bhagyaraj), Thampi's son Ashok Chakravarthy (Dileep) plots & marries Subrahmanyam's arrogant daughter Rajalakshmi (Sanusha), who was brought up by an equally arrogant & rich businesswoman Rajamallika (Khusboo), Subrahmanyam's estranged wife. After learning of Subrahmanyam's relation to Ashok, Rajamallika wages a war against Ashok to keep him away from Rajalakshmi. Ashok meanwhile, tries to set the family straight.

'Friday', told in the format of 'hyperlink cinema', tells the stories of many people who in a town on 11-11-11, whose lives gets interwoven together by a couple of incidents. In the first incident, an elderly man (Nedumudi Venu) loses the jewellery & cash he had set aside for his granddaughter's wedding in an autorickshaw driven by Balu (Fahad Fazil) & goes in frantic search for it. In the second incident, most of the characters in the movie end up in a boat which meets with an accident.

Anoop Krishnan (Jayasurya), an uppity fashion-conscious youngster who wanted to do an MBA & land a cushy job, gets sent by his mother against his will to teach at a rural government school. Unhappy at the job, Anoop constantly broke the school etiquette & finally walks off, but after being reminded about his father who was a great teacher, turns over a new leaf. Anoop returns to the school which was on the verge of shutting down, & turns it around with his hard work & innovation.

In a fishing community, a young girl named Thamara (Namitha Pramod) lives on her own at the shore & fishes for a living after the death of her father. She rescues an old man called K.P. (Nedumudi Venu) from a suicide attempt & she feels a father-like bond towards him. However the old man turns out to be not quite what he seemed & keeps changing his story causing for Thamara & her friends to go on a quest to find out K.P.'s real identity.

The film is a biopic based on the life story of J.C. Daniel (Prithviraj), the Father of Malayalam cinema, the making of his film 'Vigathakumaran' & the story of Vigathakumaran's heroine P. K. Rosie (Chandini). The film is particularly based on the novel 'Nashta Naayika' by Vinu Abraham & 'Life of J. C. Daniel', a biography of J. C. Daniel written by Chelangatt Gopalakrishnan.

Immanuel (Mammootty), after the book publishing firm he worked in went broke, seeks out a new job as an insurance agent in a corporate insurance firm. Out of his element, Immanuel tries to cope with the new world where the only thing mattered was profit. Unable to meet the unrealistic targets set for him, & sure to lose his job soon, Immanuel decides to use the rest of his time to help the company's customers whose claims were previously denied by the company for fabricated reasons.

Thoma (Dileep), living under the shadow of his martinetish & miserly father Plapparambil Paulo (Saikumar), faces ridicule & rejection from everyone, including the girl of his dreams, Sreelakshmi (Namitha Pramod), because of his cleft lip & deformed voice. Paulo had a bad reputation in town because of his stinginess, & was finding it difficult to get his elder son married off. Thoma devises a scheme to make Paulo look generous & but it backfires & makes things worse for Paulo's reputation.

Poor & envious of rich people, Asokan (Sreenivasan) lives a mundane life with his family. In a twist of fate, Asokan inherits some land from his late sister, which is now being sought by a construction firm who had paid some advance cash for it. Sensing opportunity, he takes advantage of the firm & becomes a freeloader. Egged on by his neighbor Onachan (Nedumudi), Asokan also gets the idea of having a fling & tries to woo a young girl Rupa (Aishwarya Nambiar) for it, all with disastrous results.

The German Malayali association of the town of Mettmann recruits a volunteer amongst them, Mathukkutty (Mammootty), to go to Kerala & book movie star Mohanlal for their 25th anniversary festivities. Mathukkutty, leading a frustrated life as a house husband with a bossy wife Jhansamma (Muthumani), jumps at the chance & uses the opportunity to connect with old friends & relatives, including his ex-flame Rosy (Alisha Mohammed), whom he had to dump 15 years earlier to marry Jhansamma.

Puramanayil Chandran (Mohanlal), an NRI, is summoned by his family to his hometown to get married, where he runs across his childhood sweetheart Indira (Shobana), now married with a kid. Indira's estranged husband Dr. Reghuram (Adithya), an abusive junkie, doesn't take kindly to their meeting, & threatens Chandran's family. Seeing Indira's plight, Chandran gets protective of them.

Padmanabhan (Dileep), a young man from Palakkad who makes a living supplying bodies for functions & events, comes to Trivandrum to participate in a rally, but ends up locking horns with the biggest bigwig of the city, Pushpam Prakash (Sayaji Shinde). Seeing how Prakash exploits the people of the city with the help of its Mayor Purushothaman (Vijayaraghavan), Padmanabhan runs for Mayor himself & wins. Padmanabhan starts a major effort to get back land illegally acquired by Prakash.

After unsuccessfully trying various get-rich-quick schemes, Kannan (Dileep) ends up at the Kottayam Kovilakam palace where he is smitten by Radhu (Vedika), the heir of the family & where he also manages to disrupt Radhu's engagement. Kannan stays on at the palace, & his romance with Radhu bears fruit, but which doesn't bode well with Radhu's dad D. Gopi Prasad (Joy Mathew), a Mumbai-based don, who was there to get Radhu married off & sent to America, to foil a threat to her life from his foes.

Hari Krishnan (Fahadh Faasil), an Ernakulam based techie suffers from Obsessive-compulsive personality disorder which makes it tough for this family & coworkers to deal with him. While taking a train trip to Trivandrum, Hari has to cut the trip short & accompany an old man (Nedumudi Venu) & a young girl, Narayani (Swathi Reddy), to Calicut to get the old man back to his sick wife. Meanwhile, a strike causes train & bus cancellations, resulting in the trio having to rough it out on a road trip.

Sam Alex (Prithviraj), who used to be a top cop in the force, shirks work & spends his days in drunken stupor after his wife Teena (Meghana Raj) & daughter are killed by a terrorist & he is unable to stop it. Sam is finally brought out of his exile by his boss Aravindaksha Menon (Vijayaraghavan) & forced to look into a case of serial killings with religious overtones.

Village belle Radha (Nadia Moidu) comes to the city after escaping her step-mom & lover Bhadran, after they kill Radha's father (Kunjandi). In the city, she is given refuge by a taxi driver & thief Mukundan (Nedumudi Venu), despite the flak he got from his neighbors. Mukundan slowly develops feelings for Radha, but by then Radha had gotten close to his pal & fellow thief Rajan (Mukesh). Egged on by Fernandez (T.G. Ravi), Mukundan's old pal & now his boss, Mukundan & Rajan plan one final heist.

Colonel Rajasekharan Nambiar (Murali) & army doctor Sunny Thomas (Suresh Gopi) were friends from childhood who were more like brothers. Rajasekharan falls in love with & marries army nurse Susanna (Gautami), but their marriage is tested after Susanna has difficulty conceiving. Later, Susanna conceives & they start a happy life. Sunny marries too, but his daughter & wife dies in a car accident & he becomes an alcoholic. Then in a shock to Rajasekharan, Susanna kills Sunny & goes to jail.

Varikkuzhiyil Asokan Nair (Mukesh), an unemployed man struggling to support a large extended family, gets a lifeline when he hears that a long-lost uncle who had run off decades ago & who had made it big in Maduranthakam, Tamil Nadu had expressed a desire to get his daughter Rajavalli married to Asokan, before he passed away. Asokan & his family arrives in Maduranthakam only to find that Rajavalli was self-centric & arrogant & Asokan takes a fancy to Rajavalli's demure maid, Sreedevi (Mathu).

To keep a promise his father Philipose made to his late wife Sara (Nimisha Suresh), Isaac Newton (Lal), now in his late 30s, has been writing SSLC for 17 years to no avail, despite the promise of marriage to his childhood sweetheart Annie (Abhinaya). Newton's chances are further foiled by the new rich guy in the village, George, who had his eye on Annie & uses his wealth & influence to turn Annie's family against Newton & frames Newton for the murder of Annie's uncle Varkey (Chempil Asokan).

Ace lawyer Sathya Mohan (Kunchako Boban), who was fresh off freeing a rapist Kurian Jose (Suraaj Venjarammoodu), takes up the case of Maya (Namitha Pramod), a young woman who had attempted suicide after a love failure. In her suicide note, she had implicated her ex-boy friend Abhay (S.V. Krishna Shankar), & Abhay's dad had hired Sathya to make the issue go away. In an attempt to persuade Maya to withdraw the case, Sathya takes her out on a long drive where they become good friends.

Upright customs officer Ravindran (Mammootty), who takes on smuggler Alexander (Thilakan) & his 3 sons Freddie (Captain Raju), Felix (Lalu Alex) & Stephen (Santhosh), finds evidence of Alexander selling state secrets to foreign enemies. Afterwards Alexander is found dead & Ravindran is sentenced to life for the crime. While Ravindran was in jail, Alexander's sons rape Ravindran's wife Nimmy (Jayapradha) & drowns his daughter (Shalini). After 9 years, Ravindran is released & is out for revenge.

Georgekutty (Nedumudi Venu), a gruff old man recuperating after a heart attack, leads a lonely life in a large house with only a male servant, Paappi (Mammukoya), for company, while his only son, Alexander (Vijay Menon) is settled in the US & never bothers to visit. A home nurse (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy) comes to take care of Georgekutty & slowly wins over his heart as she nurses him back to health, which angers Georgekutty's relatives who had been planning to enjoy his assets after his death.

18-year old Jessy aka Sreekutty (Rohini) runs away from home after constant fighting between her divorced parents Sreekantan Nair (Jose Prakash) & Dr. Susan Jacob (K.R. Vijaya) over her future. She ends up at Eve's Beauty Parlor run by Elizabeth (Sukumari), which was on the brink of ruin due to lack of good talent. An expert beautician, she saves the salon, & also gets close to Elizabeth's son & videographer Emil (Rahman). However, word of her presence leaks out & her dad comes looking for her.

Jeevan Mashai is the last in the line of a family of Ayurvedic physicians who run the 'Arogya Niketan' treatment center in the village. The gifted Jeevan, who does his treatment through 'Nadi pariksha' or pulse examination, can feel the pulse of people & diagnose their malady, its severity & its fatality. Simultaneously the subject of respect & anger, Mashai faces a skeptic in the form of allopathic doctor Pradyut (Vijayaraghavan) who is convinced that Mashai is a quack & is manipulating people.

Regretful over the fact that he couldn't become a doctor himself, Asokan Chirakkara (Jagadish) pushes his son Adarsh (Sujith) to become a doctor. However, on the day of the the medical entrance exam, Adarsh buckles under pressure & gets a panic attack, shattering Asokan's dreams. Over the next few days, Asokan realizes that he had never before bothered to acknowledge his son's own dreams of becoming a painter & was imposing his own wishes on his son.

Puthenpurakkal Alex Kurian (Asif Ali), a rich spoiled brat, ends up in jail for counterfeiting, but breaks out of prison with Akbar Ali (Sunny Wayne), a young man from Lakshadweep. Given an offer to not press charges & an early release by Alex's uncle & jailor Mathew (Joju George), provided Alex & Akbar were to return to prison by next day 7 PM, Alex chases Akbar down to Lakshadweep to bring him back. There, Alex learns of Akbar's love story with Isa (Swati Reddy) & the reason he went to prison.

Phantom Paili (Mammotty), a Mumbai-based movie stuntman, comes to the village of Pallikkara to meet his younger brother Josekutty (Nishanth Sagar), who was out of town. Soon he becomes a part of the village & opposes local bigwig Perumal (Manivannan), whose quarry business was threatening the stability of the nearby dam. Perumal enlists corrupt cop Sebastian (Manoj K. Jayan) who was newly transferred to Pallikkara, to combat Paili. Then Josekutty turns up dead & Paili tries to find his murderer.

Ananthu (Mohanlal), a music conductor & director, helps his girlfriend Meera (Rekha) become a playback singer, but he is forced to take a backseat when Meera, under duress from her mother (Unnimary), snubs Ananthu for Gopikrishna (Shankar), the leading male playback singer. After his mother dies in an attack meant for him & his father leaves town, Ananthu leaves for the US to practice music. Returning a famed musician after 5 years, Ananthu starts a new band & also reconciles with Meera.

In pre-indepedent India, Sivasubramania Iyer (Mohanlal), a revolutionary young Brahmin man, goes against the social norms & becomes a communist to fight for the downtrodden workers. Urumees Tharakan (Suresh Gopi), a rich man's son on his way to a lucrative government career, drops everything & joins him. Together, they take on the Diwan (Nasser) & the very concept of the Diwan rule.

7 prison inmates - Shabab (Asif Ali), Noble (Nedumudi Venu), Salaam (Salaam Bukhari), Narayankutty (Neeraj Madhav), Marty (Vinod Chemban), Vasu (Sudheer Karamana) & Krishnanunni (Prithviraj) - plot to rob the illicit wealth accumulated by Municipal Councillor Payas (Joy Mathew) & his brothers (Mukundan & Irshad), as revenge for Payas bankrupting & jailing Noble, & for causing the death of Krishnanunni's wife Sarah (Reenu Mathews) & his unborn child.

Anjali Arackal (Aparna Gopinath), a freelance journalist looking for a break, comes across C.K. Raghavan (Mammootty), a mild-mannered prisoner who had been in jail for 20 years for a double homicide, something which Raghavan denies committing. Anjali publishes his brilliant musings in an article which brings her fame & a book offer. As Raghavan is released, Anjali hides him away & tries to get him to write the material for the book. Raghavan, feeling trapped, experiences writer's block.

Siddharthan aka Siddhu (Dileep) makes a living running a vegetable shop & by lending money for interest. Siddhu's dad Chandrasekharan (Siddique) is in jail for a crime he didn't commit, framed by his old friend turned foe Kadamberi Vishwanathan (Saikumar). When even after Chandrasekharan's release, Vishwanathan & his sons (Suresh Krishna & Riyaz Khan) were not willing to leave them alone, Siddhu decides to fight back.

Allen Mathew (Vipin Atley), a young man trying to catch a break in TV despite his unflattering looks, comes up with a unique concept for a TV show, which is stolen by his friend Sajith (Kailash) who works for the Christian TV channel, Grace TV. Allen does get a chance to make further episodes, but is stymied at every step of the way by Program Head Sarath Chandran (Manoj K. Jayan) & Sajith. Finally, Allen decides to expose the corruption at Grace TV through a special New Year's eve episode.

In the indigent village of Gowlipady, lottery agent Kashi (Nedumudi Venu) realizes that the latest lottery was won by someone in the village he had sold a ticket to. Kashi finally figures out that it was the drunkard Antony (Nandu), but he finds Antony dead from shock. Kashi takes possession of the ticket, but word leaks out to almost everyone in the village & now the village has to come together to convince the lottery inspector Vijay Nambiar (Anoop Menon) that the milkman Nallavan is Antony.

Nandagopalan (Mohanlal), an alcoholic due to his tormented past, but a talented teacher at the Kerala Kalamanidram school of performing arts, takes a liking to his student Malavika (Monisha) & casts her as the lead for his magnum opus dance piece 'Seetharamayanam'. Somashekaran (Vineeth), another student at the school who loved Malavika, misunderstands Nandagopalan's & Malavika's relationship, gets jealous & plots to sabotage the dance performance.

3 people who were previously strangers - Sreelal (Jayasurya), Bahadhoor (Nedumudi Venu) & Dharmajan Shasthri (Aju Varghese) before their trip to Kochi one day, become friends & search for Sreelal's lost lottery ticket after it wins the first prize of Rs. 1 crore. Meanwhile, the lottery ticket ends up in the hands of the boy who initially sold the ticket to Sreelal & the boy also searches around the city to find Sreelal.

B.K. Menon, a business tycoon based in Doha, Qatar, wishes for his daughter's wedding to be done in a traditional Kerala style feast. Menon & his friend movie star Mohanlal (himself) invite famous chef Valliyottu Thirumeni (Nedumudi Venu) to take up the catering for the wedding reception. Thirumeni, his son Balashankar (Indrajith), & family go to Doha, but circumstances force Balu to take over from his father after Thirumeni falls ill.

Christy (Sunny Wayne), an ambulance driver, is hired to transport a corpse by the relatives of the deceased, to a remote location. However, halfway through the trip, Christy realizes that the relatives in the vehicle were hired goons tasked with destroying the corpse. Intrigued, Christy shakes them off & tries to unravel the reasons behind the death of the person, whom he recognizes to be a kind stranger whom he had briefly met just earlier that day.

Kunjukuttiyamma (T.R. Omana), the matriarch of the Manikyamanagalathu family, determined to follow the family tradition of bequeathing the family wealth to the first grandchild, throws her 3 infertile sons - Dhanapalan (Nedumudi Venu), Dharmapalan (Innocent) & Satyapalan (Jagathi Sreekumar) - into a state of despair. Police constables Balagopal (Sreejith Ravi) & Jolly Kurian (Joju George), who hate each other, are ordered to transfer 2 prisoners from Kannur to Trivandrum. They board the train with the handcuffed inmates, but at the Kayamkulam station, prisoner Nandu (Vineeth Sreenivasan) escapes. They get off the train at the next stop with the 2nd inmate Maaran (Chemban Vinod Jose) & frantically searches for Nandu. The 3 unlikely musketeers band together to dig up Nandu's story to see why he escaped.

Kochu Kunju (Mammootty) of the Thachiledathu family, is forced to leave his lover Usha (Nandini) & marry rich heiress Ambika (Vani Viswanathan), in return for underwriting debts incurred by his father Vasukutty (Nedumudi Venu). Vasukutty commits suicide, leaving the family's burden on Kochu Kunju's shoulders.

Ajay (Asif Ali) drops out of the National Defense Academy & decides to visit his estranged father, lawyer Sidharth Shankar (Prem Prakash), who was weakened after getting cancer. There, Ajay joins his father's fight - to obtain justice for Venukuttan Nair (Nedumudi Venu), a retired grandfather who was unable to get his grandchild Arya (Sanusha) to the hospital after an accident, because of the political rally of a major political party snarling up the traffic.

Mrinalini (Nikki Galrani), who wins the Booker Prize for her book 'Rudrasimhasanam', visits Manavathoor Kovilakam, her now derelict ancestral home, where she recalls her past. Mrinalini is in fact Haimavathi, the daughter of Neelakanta Raja (Devan), who was killed by an elephant. After his death, Haimavathi realizes that her dad's assistant Sivathanu (Nedumudi Venu) is not who he seems to be, & is after her. But then arrives Rudrasimhan (Suresh Gopi), a mystic who vows to protect Haimavathi.

Two chronic alcoholics - 'Paampu' Joy (Prithviraj) & 'Paavada' Babu (Anoop Menon) - meet at a rehab where they realize they had a shared past. Joy's mother Sicily (Asha Sharath) was the heroine of a movie called 'Paavada' which Babu had produced several year ago. However, the movie didn't turn out to be what Babu & Sicily intended, as it was altered by assistant director Eldho Kunnanthanam (Kalabhavan Shajohn). Now Eldho is planning for a re-release of the movie which Joy & Babu tries to stop.

Muniyandi(Sreenivasan), a laborer in the farm, believes and respects Shivakami (Smita Patil). Muniyandi brings Shivakami to the farm after marrying her. She soon befriends Shankaran (Gopi). But one day Muniyandi catches Shankaran red-handed with his wife Shivakami. Broken hearted, Muniyandi commits suicide. The extreme feeling of guilt forces Shankaran to leaves the place. He tries alcohol, spirituality and all other possible methods to escape from this mental torment, but fails. (imdb)

Seeing his potential, Kochavva, who was also Ayyappa's coach, tries to get him enrolled in a prestigious swimming training program happening abroad.

The movie is a biopic on the real-life character, Kunjali Marakkar who is till date considered one of the greatest naval chiefs of India. An epic tale, set in the late 15th century and early16th century, the film is based on the fearless seafarer of the Malabar Coast, Kunjali Marakkar.
