The film is based on a true story of northeast of Brazil. Mozart Vieira creates an orchestra composed by peasant and poor children of a miserable small city in order to give them a better life and opportunities. The orchestra becomes popular and the local politicians become jealous seeing Mozart as a new strong and ethical leader starting a fight with lies and conspiracy. Today, the Foundation Music and Life still helps children of the interior of Pernambuco's state.

A year after the disappearance of his son, Thomas Mathews, an investigative journalist, still has no information and begins his own obsessive search. However, the obsession has him losing his house and job so his boss sends him on special assignment in Brazil. In Brazil, Mathews investigates close encounter sightings that have taken place in the small cities of Quixada and Quixeramobim-also known as Area Q.
