As the owner of a full-blood horse ranch is dying, an old friend of the house is asked to come and help to save the family business. A love is slowly growing between the daughter of the house and the stranger as the ranch is facing a new and happy beginning. But they also have to face obstacles when a staff member is trying to steele the business in fraud.

Cirkus Karla has been on tour 'in Germany and is now returning home to Denmark. The clown Laust (Peter Malberg) has gathered a young forerunner (Poul Reichhardt) on the road. He can remember nothing but his own name, but he sees a newspaper front page where Kurt is standing and so he calls for it. It turns out that Kurt is an excellent flute player, so together they form a clown number that will be a great success.
