Mor Kaplansky sets off on a journey to investigate the story behind Café Nagler, which her family owned in the 1920s. However, during this journey she learns that Café Nagler wasn't quite as famous as her grandmother had led her to believe. Not wanting to disappoint her grandmother, Kaplansky decides that, rather than explain to her grandmother that Café Nagler, like so many cafes in Berlin's history, has disappeared and been erased from memory, she will create a myth of Café Nagler.
