Year 1943, London. Lieutenant Karol Romanski is on a mission to find mysterious Object X owned by Nazis, but due to a mistake Jan, the cook, is sent to Poland instead of him.

A psychological detective story about a police hunt for the murderer of young boys. The police comissioner ends up tracing the clues to his own home, where he has an adolescent son he has not been able to communicate with. The son is helping and hiding a foreign-born psychopath.
