After the eccentric & genius filmmaker Siddharthan (Mohanlal) dies in mysterious circumstances, his son Aadi (Anoop Menon), returns years later from California to relive the memories of his father. After meeting with a few of Siddarthan's old friends, Aadi becomes convinced that his dad was killed, & that it was not a suicide as he had originally thought. Aadi sets out to unravel the mystery that was his father & to seek out his killer.

When a body washes ashore on the backwaters of Kerala, three women - Revamma (Padmapriya), Pemmena (Kamalinee Mukherjee) & Kali (Meena Kumari Perera) - separately identify the corpse as Kutty Srank (Mammootty), a boatman who had touched each of their lives in different ways & recount their memories to police inspector Paskal (Sreekumar).

A teenager, Pappu (Sreejith), falls in love with his neighbor & family friend, an older woman Rathi (Shweta Menon) & begins to obsess with her.

Josekutty (Arun), a plus two student with a promising future, a loving girlfriend & a caring family, is misguided by the new Math teacher in school, Nandan (Ganesh Kumar), who preached radical communism & atheism. Nandan, who was deployed there by the Communist Party, ushers in political elections in the school, which results in a skirmish where Josekutty & his friend Ijaz stab a fellow student. Running off to Kochi, Josekutty & Ijaz are duped & sent off to a terrorist camp by Ijaz's cousin.

Obese underachiever Kiran P.S. (Praveen Prem) finally lands the girl of his dreams, the svelte & beautiful Nithya Namboothiri (Avanthika Mohan), but Nithya's father Narayanan (Asokan) would have none of it & constantly comes between them. They make a day getaway to a forest area to relax, but romance turns into horror as they get stuck on a tree on an isolated island in the middle of a lake, with a crocodile stalking them. As the authorities try to rescue them, a political & media circus ensues.
