Tomu Uchida's "Keisatsukan" tells the story of a young police man, Itami, who met his high school friend, Tetsuo, at a roadblock. As the two rekindled their friendship through a series of beautiful flashbacks of their high school days, the audience are entangled into the complex relationship between between an honest police officer and a gangster.

A quintessential example of the period "ghost cat" (bakeneko or kaibyo) movie, this was one of at least six such titles released by the studio Shinko Kinema between 1937-40 featuring Japan's first scream queen, Sumiko Suzuki. Sozenji Baba is a 1928 black and white Japanese silent film directed by Masahiro Makino. It is an ambitious film in which Makino deals with the difficult issue of the agony of a person who killed for revenge.
