The movie begins with the final scene of the previous film 'Pekka ja Pätkä as frogmen' where the main characters are knocked out by a pair of Finnish soldiers. The soldiers take Pekka and Pätkä's clothes, put them in uniform and drag the to the plane for Suez where a Finnish platoon is being sent on a peace keeping mission. (Wikipedia)

Pekka Puupää's wife Justiina leaves to visit relatives, so Pekka and his friend Pätkä decide to start a nursery to make some money. When a crook kidnaps the local millionaire's child and hides him in Pekka's apartment, Pekka and Pätkä erroneously think that they have gotten their first client.

Pekka and Pätkä become private detectives and have to find the missing son of the general manager Leino.
